IPL: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Tuesday’s IPL game between Chennai Super Kings v Royal Challengers Bangalore with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

Chennai Super Kings v Royal Challengers Bangalore

MATCH OVERVIEW:

We have another blockbuster game on BETDAQ Betting Exchange in the Indian Premier League on Tuesday as Chennai Super Kings take on Royal Challengers Bangalore. You get the feeling that this is a huge game for CSK – they simply can’t afford another loss. This season has seen a lot of change in the IPL with the different groups and then adding another two teams – we always tend to see a lot of change around the auctions but for the first time it seems that CSK and Mumbai Indians are no longer the best two sides in the tournament. Throughout all the years they usually held onto their best players and even added some stars, but the auctions weren’t kind to them this time around.

That has meant CSK come into this game with no win from their opening four games and sit bottom of the table. There isn’t much between them and Mumbai for that bottom spot, but CSK have been very poor in their opening four games. Their batting and bowling has looked very average and you just feel that they need so much improvement to start winning games. The problem I see is there’s no one putting their hand up at the moment and playing a match winning knock or bowling a match winning spell.

The batting and bowling line-ups aren’t bad – but they look lack a real star. MS Dhoni is the fan favourite obviously, but he getting older now and can’t carry the team like he used to. They need to be all working together, and that’s just not happening right now. RCB will see this as a great opportunity to win and they have started the tournament in good form. As always with RCB, they will need their stars to fire as they do have to carry some players, but they have been doing well so far. An interesting match awaits!

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

We’re back at the DY Patil Stadium today, and this will actually be back-to-back matches here after we had Sunrisers Hyderabad v Gujarat Titans here on Monday. As I said in my preview of that game, we didn’t have any ground data for this ground before the tournament but we are getting to know conditions very well now! We have had scores of 205/2 chased down and then 128 nearly defended so there has been a range of scores here. As I said yesterday, I’d be a little cagey at this ground but it does look like a par score is around 170.

RECOMMENDED BET:

So far in the tournament I have been happy to be against RCB most times. I always feel that they are over bet when you look at their side. They definitely look a little weaker to me this season on paper, but they are getting the job done and you can’t knock that. I expected them to be shorter than the current 1.84 for this game however, and I’m happy to support them at those odds. As I said above, CSK have been very poor this tournament and nothing is going right for them – when they have batted well they’ve bowled poorly or vice versa. RCB might look a little poor on paper in the bowling department, but they have enough firepower with the bat to win this game.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

Even though this will be the eighth game here, I still feel that there isn’t a massive edge batting or bowling first. The best advice in that regard is to watch out for any major dew as that will give the chasing side a huge advantage and it will also increase scores. We haven’t seen dew all the time so don’t just expect it, it’s definitely something to watch out for. This game will be a little tricky for in-running because I don’t rate the CSK batting and I’m not a huge fan of the RCB bowling – so that’s a clash! I feel the best in-running angle will be getting on RCB when they bat, and that would be even better if they chased with dew.
