8pm We have Monday Night Football to enjoy on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this week from the Premier League as Crystal Palace host Leeds. While this fixture doesn’t have much impact on the table like we had at the weekend, it is an interesting fixture from a betting point of view. We won’t have the Arsenal v Manchester United drama – but we might have the same amount of goals. With Crystal Palace trading at 2.16 at the time of writing, I’m sure there will be a lot of backers and layers. It will be interesting to see where the price goes in the lead-up to kick off.

Palace come into this game off the back of three losses. Two in the Premier League and one in an FA Cup Semi-Final. None of those losses came at home however, but looking at the home and away tables the difference is only marginal really. Palace have had a solid season under Patrick Vieira – they have had their good and bad moments in the Premier League and had a great Cup run. I think on reflection it’s been a success after Roy Hodgson left last season. Obviously they have to keep focused as we close to the end of the season – last week I said they could easily just switch off now after the FA Cup exit. In fairness that was a genuine worry, and they played very lacklustre against Newcastle to lose 1-0.

I would be watching Palace performance levels closely in the opening 15 to 20 minutes here with a view to betting in-running. If they look lacklustre again they will be a very attractive lay. Leeds come into this game unbeaten in four with three wins, and they have nearly removed themselves from the relegation battle. Given the tough fixture list for Everton it looks unlikely they will close the gap and it’s also hard to see Burnley catching them. It’s still a little uncomfortable though, and they just need to pick up another win or two to relax. They will surely view this as an excellent chance to keep their good run going – the betting markets have Crystal Palace as the clear favourites but Leeds have been scoring plenty of goals lately and will surely fancy their chances with nine goals in four games!

The Watford 3-0 win for Leeds was more impressive score line wise than performance wise, but they have created xG figures of 1.66 v Southampton, 3.29 v Wolves and 3.0 v Norwich recently. The six goals in two away games is obviously a good stat here – and they did bounce back from being 2-0 down against Wolves. I feel Leeds have a lot going in their favour here and they will definitely have a confidence edge over Palace. I’m going to keep stakes small here because I still want to form an opinion on how Palace are playing after their FA Cup exit, but we landed a bet on Newcastle expecting the Palace hangover after the FA Cup and I feel they are worth taking on again here at 2.16. I expect Leeds to give Palace a very good game here and make the 2.16 look very short.
