8pm We have an intriguing fixture for Monday Night Football in the Premier League on BBETDAQ Betting Exchange this week! There’s always going to be plenty of talking points when Manchester United are playing at the moment, and I’m sure there will be a lot of big opinions on their price at 1.76 here. Brentford arrive into Old Trafford having lost just once in their last seven games, and we all know how poor United have been this season. This could be another difficult night for the home fans.
We also got news this week that Ralf Rangnick has accepted the Austria manager position, however he confirmed that he will be staying on at Manchester United with a consultancy role. I think this is a good move for United – Rangnick has been very honest in his views to the UK media basically saying that this side just isn’t good enough and he can see where they need to work. It appears his main task will be focused on recruitment – he probably knows United need at least ten new players at the club. I think we’ll see a huge amount of changes this summer.
The thing about United at the moment is; what are they achieving? This squad has been through a few managers now and nothing is changing. They need a complete overhaul – if that means missing out on the Champions League for a season or not then so be it. They are missing out now anyway, and aren’t going anywhere fast. Hopefully, for United’s sake, the new manager gets the backing he deserves. At the moment it’s player power at Old Trafford.
Given the levels of performance for this United side, it’s hard to get away from the home lay here at 1.76. Brentford arrive into this fixture full of confidence and they have been creating lots of chances too. They were the better side last weekend in the 0-0 draw against Spurs, and they deserved their win away to Chelsea too. They have been creating xG figures like 1.62, 2.04, 1.66, 2.54, 1.67, 1.83 and 2.44 recently. Those figures are much better than anything United have managed recently.
I always worry about a moment of brilliance from Ronaldo when taking on Manchester United, but apart from that it’s hard to see where the goals are going to come from. From that point of view, under 2.5 goals is definitely an option at 2.3. However, I feel Brentford will play an open game here – they simply won’t fear this United attack. There isn’t many positive thoughts when you look at the United stats this season. As Roy Keane said recently “this isn’t the club he played for” and he’s right.
Brentford come into the game in great form and tick a lot of boxes. United continue to give away sloppy goals, concede too many chances and don’t create much at all. I’d have United trading closer to 2.0 here than their current 1.76 and I’m very happy to lay those odds – it’s not quite a Max Bet, but it looks a very good value lay.
