WEEK AHEAD: A cracking week of sport features second leg action across all European competitions, daily IPL matches and the next instalment of the F1 season.
Monday’s live coverage begins with the Indian Premier League, and a match between Kolkata Knight Riders and the high-flying Rajasthan Royals at 15:00 on Sky Sports. In the evening Brentford travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in a 20:00 kick-off, also live on Sky.
IPL league leaders the Gujarat Titans take on Kings XI Punjab (15:00, Sky Sports) on Tuesday, before Liverpool’s semi-final second leg against Villarreal (20:00, BT Sport). The Reds overcame the Spanish side’s strong defence at Anfield to take a two-goal lead into this contest and they will be hopeful of reaching their third Champions League Final in five years.
Wednesday brings a similar schedule, with IPL in the afternoon, Royal Challengers Bangalore v Chennai Super Kings and the second Champions League semi-final second leg at 20:00 on BT Sport. Manchester City and Real Madrid served up a breathtaking spectacle of attacking football at the Etihad, with City just edging the contest 4-3. We could be in for another classic in the Santiago Bernabeu.
Golf fans will be awaiting Thursday, when play from day one of the Wells Fargo Championship on the PGA Tour gets underway at 12:00 on Sky Sports. Last year Rory McIlroy won this event to claim his 19th win on the PGA Tour, moving him inside the top 40 of all-time PGA Tour winners. The Northern Irishman will be back to defend his crown this year. There’s more golf with day one of the British Masters from The Belfry (13:30, Sky Sports). The afternoon’s IPL fare sees Delhi Capitals play Sunrisers Hyderabad (15:00, Sky Sports). Premier League Darts Night 13 comes from Glasgow and is live on Sky Sports from 19:00. Then there’s another big night for British sides in Europe, as Rangers and West Ham seek to overturn one goal deficits in their Europa League second leg ties against RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively. Leicester’s Europa Conference League tie with Roma is level and they head to the Stadio Olympico to face Jose Mourinho’s side. All three games kick-off at 20:00 and are live on BT Sport.
Friday begins with the second round from the Wells Fargo Championship at the slightly earlier time of 11:45 on Sky Sports. Players tee-off at 13:30 in the British Masters. At 15:00 (Sky Sports) the Gujarat Titans take on struggling bottom side the Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
Things will be heating up in the Wells Fargo Championship and the British Masters with players that have made the weekend setting off on their third rounds from 12:00 and 13:00 (both Sky Sports) respectively. There’s Saturday IPL action on Sky Sports with two games, first the Kings XI Punjab take on the Rajasthan Royals (11:00) and then it’s the turn of the Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders (15:00). Brighton host Manchester United at 17:30, before Liverpool face a test on their title run in against Tottenham at 19:45. Both games are live on Sky Sports. On Sunday, there’s more IPL with Sunrisers Hyderabad against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at 11:00 and then Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals from 15:00 on Sky Sports. Play concludes from the Wells Fargo Championship and British Masters, with the final rounds beginning at 12:00 and 13:00 (both Sky Sports). In the Premier League, top four chasing Arsenal face relegation threatened Leeds (14:00, Sky Sports) and then Manchester City are in action against Newcastle in a 16:30 kick-off.
