7-4 STRIKE FOR WINNER-A-DAY DAQMAN: Daqman yesterday maintained his by now traditional winner a day on weekdays, but his naps sequence ended with the hat-trick (see yesterday’s column) when his best bet failed to run his race, though backed down to 6-4 on favourite. Daqman’s winner was Blenkinsop (WON 7-4).

PEMBROKE TO RELISH HEAVY

⭕ 2.40 Wetherby On a day of limited opportunities it might be best left to the Skelton’s to land the nap. They look to have a great chance here with Pembroke who relished soft ground when winning a Huntingdon bumper by 11 lengths in March and will hopefully be just as effective on the heavy ground here.

He didn’t really excel on his hurdling debut at Chepstow earlier in the month on good to soft ground. He ended up finishing seventh, beaten 11 lengths but those numbers were dented by a bad mistake at the second last.

He should at least know a little more today and this doesn’t look the toughest of events when you take into account ground question marks over several of his rivals.

Magic Wave is the obvious danger on the Betdaq Betting Exchange market and I think that’ll prove the case in the race too.

The Mark Walford trained runner has yet to tackle heavy but won his latest start, a bumper at Ayr, in commanding fashion.

Henry Grey won an Irish point on debut on yielding ground and had several entry options this week. He definitely looks one to keep an eye on, although will almost certainly need further.

Battle Of Toro brings the most experience to the table and was a wide margin winner over hurdles at Cartmel in June but overall looks exposed and I don’t think he’ll be able to defy a penalty against some interesting, lightly raced, opponents.

KNICKERBOCKERGLORY LOOKS SWEET

3.10 Wetherby The Skeltons will hopefully be looking for a double by the time this race comes around and again they have strong claims.

This time with Knickerbockerglory who bids for a fourth win on the spin and also to justify favouritism for the fourth consecutive time.

Two of his recent wins have come on soft and he was also a heavy ground winner at Ludlow last year, so no problems on that score.

It was only a match he won at Ffos Las time out but did it in great style and can see off the challenge of Adrimel who is real mudlark but has a lengthy absence to overcome.

BEST LEFT TO NICHOLLS

⭕ 3.50 Hereford Slightly less testing at Hereford today and the closing bumper can go the way of Paul Nicholls and Ioupy Collonges.

The stable remain in great form and their runner here starts out on the back of two solid efforts in Irish points which makes him vastly experienced compared to his two main rivals Saint Jaguen and Wonder Of The Seas who are both having their first day at school.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
