MONDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews Monday’s games between SAMPDORIA v INTER MILAN and ESPANYOL v REAL SOCIEDAD both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

SAMPDORIA V INTER MILAN

7.45pm This week Monday night football from Europe comes from Serie A and La Liga on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! We kick the evening off with Sampdoria hosting Inter Milan in Serie A. It’s been a very interesting season so far in Serie A, we’ve had plenty of drama on and off the pitch. At the moment Napoli are running away with the title – they started this matchday with a 13 point lead over Inter Milan sitting in second. Given that Inter resumed their season after the World Cup by beating Napoli, it shows how many points they have dropped that Napoli have extended their lead since before the World Cup even with that loss. The others have been dropping points for fun too, although AC Milan finally got back to winning ways on Friday night. Sampdoria are having a tough season – they sit in the bottom three and they have become adrift too. At the moment it’s very hard to see them staying Serie A – they started the weekend eight points away from Spezia in 17th, and that’s going to take a huge effort to catch up with them, never mind go past. And as we’ve all saw before, momentum is broken when you bump into the top sides – and Sampdoria haven’t even got any momentum!

They come into this game off the back of a five game run without a win, and Inter Milan will be fully expected to add another three points. They are trading 1.46 at the time of writing, and I couldn’t put anyone off that price. They are definitely a good option for any Acca. The under-lining numbers don’t make for good reading for Sampdoria, while they are giving away more chances than they would like they really aren’t creating much. They are only averaging 0.5 goals per game at the moment in Serie A, and their average xG figure is only 0.9 too. I can see Inter dominating this game and having the ball for large parts of it. The market is expecting goals with Over 2.5 goals trading odds on, by and large because it expects goals from Inter. I feel that they can keep a clean sheet here, and Both Teams Not To Score looks a great option at 1.79. Inter have only been conceding an average xG of 0.9 this season, and they should keep out a weak Sampdoria attack.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Both Teams Not To Score at 1.79 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

ESPANYOL V REAL SOCIEDAD

8pm We move over to La Liga to finish the evening as Espanyol host Real Sociedad. This might not be the most glamorous tie, but it’s a very important one for both sides looking at the table. With Sevilla being so poor this season, it has opened up the top four and Real Sociedad have been the side to break into that top four. Real Betis have dropped plenty of points, and the chance is there for Sociedad to get Champions League football. That would be a huge achievement, especially when the top four in Spain has been locked down for so long. It will bring more money and higher quality players to the club. They’ve started the last two season very fast and then fell away, the question now is can they hang on this time? They have a little cushion over Real Betis in fifth at the moment, but they have to win games like this. Espanyol are in big danger of getting dragged into a relegation fight – they got overtaken by Cadiz on Friday night, and with the likes of Sevilla and Valencia hanging around the relegation zone as well you’d expect those sides to finish the season strongly. Espanyol could get themselves into trouble, and they need to continue picking up points. They have actually been on a very good run since the World Cup, they’ve only lost once and recorded two wins from their six games – they even managed a lucky 1-1 away to Barcelona!

Real Sociedad come into the game as the favourites, but they aren’t trading odds on. They are 2.3 at the time of writing, and I’m sure they’ll be a very popular bet at those odds. They have been doing a lot right this season – they create decent chances and they don’t concede many – their average xG conceded is only 1.1. When you look at the under-lining numbers for Espanyol you can see that they aren’t a bad side. They should avoid going down – they are only marginally conceding more chances than they create, which isn’t too bad compared to some sides around them. That being said, Real Sociedad have been excellent this season and their last three away performances have been very solid. A draw to Real Madrid and two wins – they were unlucky to lose last weekend against Real Valladolid, and I feel the 2.3 is too big to turn down here to get back to winning ways.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Real Sociedad to beat Espanyol at 2.3 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
