TUESDAY’S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: The Ultra previews Tuesday’s last 16 games between AC MILAN v TOTTENHAM and PSG v BAYERN MUNICH both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

AC MILAN V TOTTENHAM

8pm The Champions League returns on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, and we start the Last 16 with a bang on Tuesday! We have two intriguing fixtures with plenty of talking points – I’m sure all eyes will be on PSG v Bayern Munich, but with AC Milan and Spurs both struggling domestically we have a fascinating tie there as well! Definitely time to get out the annual moan of the Last 16 games kicking off at the same time; I really struggle to understand why we can’t have one game at 5.45pm and the other at 8pm – it’s so annoying not be able to focus on these two games rather than trying to keep track of the two at the same time! Alas, here we here. AC Milan finally broke their losing run at the weekend with a hard fought 1-0 win over Torino who sat beside them in Serie A. Milan have resumed their season in terrible form at the World Cup and they’ve even dropped out of the top four – things are very tight and they will still likely finish there, but they just aren’t playing good football at the moment. That’s what Spurs fans want to hear, because their side are struggling massively too. Like Milan, they aren’t in the top four anymore and they got hammered 4-1 by Leicester at the weekend. Classic Spurs – they followed up their best performance of the season when beating Manchester City with an embarrassing loss!

We have a very open market here, and it’s not a surprise. AC Milan come into the game as the favourites, but they were comfortably beaten twice by Chelsea at the Group stage. Chelsea have been playing average football in the Premier League this season, and they’ve even turned into a mid-table side but that probably highlights the gulf in class between the Premier League and Serie A these days. It’s hard to have any confidence in Spurs here because all their poor performances this season have come away from home. They were given a reasonably easy Group and almost messed that up too. I feel the best option here is to stay away from the match odds market and focus on the goals market. Over 2.5 goals is trading 2.03 and while I fully accept that these first leg ties can be quite cagey, Spurs have been conceding so many sloppy goals this season we’re bound to see a lot of chances here. AC Milan have been conceding sloppy goals lately too – because it’s a first leg tie I will keep stakes reasonably limited, but I can see plenty of mistakes here and that should make for an entertaining game.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Over 2.5 goals at 2.03 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

PSG V BAYERN MUNICH

8pm Next we have one of the highlight fixtures of the Last 16 as PSG meet Bayern Munich. It’s a close call between this tie and Liverpool v Real Madrid as to the pick of the Last 16! PSG surprised everyone finishing behind Benfica in Group H, and that slip up could easily see them knocked out of the tournament at the Last 16 stage. Bayern haven’t been at their best this season because they have dropped plenty of points in the Bundesliga, but we still all know how good they are – when they turn up they are almost impossible to stop. They had no dramas in their Group, winning all six games. Speaking of drama, PSG fans turned up at their training ground at the weekend after losing 3-1 to Monaco to boo the players arriving for training. They are five points clear at the top of Ligue 1. Talk about tough crowd. PSG always struggle with “not winning well enough” given their league is so low on quality outside of them, and the Champions League is always the acid test. It will be fascinating to see what type of performances we get from Neymar, Messi and Mbappe. All eyes will be on the team news here with Messi and Mbappe uncertain – they both trained on Sunday is the latest news out of Paris, but let’s wait and see. Losing the two of them would have a huge impact and really tilt the odds in favour of Bayern. We could see some major movement on the team news, that’s definitely a trading angle worth paying attention to come 7pm-ish on Tuesday.

We have another open betting heat here, but this time it’s the away side that are favourites. They are trading more or less the same price as AC Milan with home advantage in the above fixture. Bayern recorded a smooth 3-0 win at the weekend without drama to make it two wins in a row – they had put three draws together in the Bundesliga, and they weren’t creating high xG figures either. It’s hard to see a low scoring game between these two given all the talent on show, but you’d have to say neither are really creating huge xG figures at the moment. You see flashes of brilliance, but they are consistently creating xG figures of over 2.0 – like they usually do! The market is fully expecting goals with Over 2.5 goals trading as short as 1.56, but I feel we might see a more cagey game than usual from these two. Bayern haven’t been firing since the World Cup, I know they’ve scored goals but they have come from unlikely places. PSG could easily have to change their system with injuries too, and this is a fixture they might just “want to get through” despite having home advantage. Messi seems more likely to start than Mbappe, and I like Under 3.5 goals at 1.72. It allows for a bit of action, surely we’ll see goals at some point, but I don’t see either team going crazy here and Under 3.5 goals makes a lot of appeal at the odds.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 3.5 goals at 1.72 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
