WEEK AHEAD: The Champions League quarter-finals get underway and the week ahead supplies a number of exciting Premier League meetings and the return of the Champions League. For racing fans it’s all about the Grand National at Aintree on Saturday.

On Monday the week kicks off supplying sports fans with a full day of entertainment. Starting at 12:30 on Sky Sports, Huddersfield Town will face Blackburn Rovers in the Championship. At 14:15 on ITV, the Irish Grand National will take place before later in the day, Coventry take on Watford at 15:00 (Sky Sports). Next, Bristol City face off against Middlesbrough at 17:30, also on Sky Sports, and then the day concludes with Burnley playing Sheffield United at 20:00 (Sky Sports).

Tuesday sees two exciting football matches with England Women playing Australia Women in a friendly match at 19:45 on ITV. At 20:00 on BT Sport, Manchester City will compete against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final. Can the German side knock out the favourites?

Wednesday welcomes another Champions League quarter-final first leg cracker as the holders Real Madrid are visited by Frank Lampard’s Chelsea at 20:00 on BT Sport.

The week gets busier from Thursday with the RBC Heritage kicking off on Sky Sports at 12:00, followed by the Europa Conference League quarter-final match between Gent and West Ham at 17:45. Fans can then enjoy the Premier League Darts, this time in Brighton at 19:00 on Sky Sports, and finally the evening eases us into Friday with Manchester United facing Sevilla in the Europa League quarter-final at 20:00 (BT Sport).

Friday is another action-packed day and gets going with the RBC Heritage day two on Sky Sports from 12:00. Later in the day, there are three intriguing matches to watch: Bristol Bears play against Sale Sharks in the Rugby Premiership at 19:45 on BT Sport, Ross County then face off against Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership at the same time on Sky Sports, and Middlesbrough take on Norwich in the Championship at 20:00 on Sky Sports.

The football action heats up as we move into Saturday, and the day kicks off with two matches at 12:30 – Sheffield United v Cardiff in the Championship on Sky Sports, and Aston Villa v Newcastle United in the Premier League on BT Sport. Golf fans can then catch the third day of the RBC Heritage at 13:30 on Sky Sports, while horse racing enthusiasts can tune in to the Grand National Festival at 14:00 (ITV). The evening supplies more matches to watch; Manchester United Women v Brighton Women in the FA Cup Semi-final at 17:15 on BBC, Manchester City v Leicester City at 17:30 (Sky Sports), and Blackburn v Hull City in the Championship at 19:45 (Sky Sports). There is even something for boxing fans with Joe Joyce clashing with Zhilei Zhang at 19:00 (BT Sport).

The week comes to a close on Sunday with another football dominated day. We kick off with Kilmarnock v Celtic in the Scottish Premiership at 12:00 on Sky Sports, followed by the RBC Heritage day four at 13:30, also on Sky Sports. West Ham v Arsenal is the lunch time fixture from 14:00 on Sky Sports, and alternatively, Aston Villa Women v Chelsea Women in the FA Cup Semi-final at 14:15 (BBC), is on for the women’s football fans. A Rugby Premiership match between Leicester and Exeter is scheduled for 15:00 on BT Sport, and Nottingham Forest v Manchester United in the FA Cup at 16:30 (Sky Sports), will cap off a busy week of sport.
