I have been hugely impressed so far with Dawn Approach and my suspicion is that Jim Bolger has a very useful colt on his hands.
He fully deserves to take this step-up in class after following up a debut win at the Curragh with a runaway five and a half length success over course and distance here last month.
He has two other unbeaten colts to take care of here. Cougar Ridge from David Wachman’s yard won well when favourite for his debut at Leopardstown and rates as the biggest danger.
Richard Hannon sends Goodwood winner Mister Marc over but the home challenge is strong and unless Aidan O’Brien’s debutant Pedro The Great is well above average it should be three out three for Dawn Approach.
Hannon may take the listed fillies event at 4.45 with Sky Lantern who won on debut at Goodwood in good style.
