NAPS SEQUENCE BUSTED: The naps sequence came to an abrupt end on Tuesday when the nap Westhaven was badly hampered after the second flight when a horse slipped up and unfortunately he was also reported to have burst a blood vessel during the race. Time to re-group for Fairyhouse this evening.
Fairyhouse stage an eight-race flat card tonight with plenty of runners to sort through.
I want to be against Delight in the opener. I’m not even convinced she is best of those who have run, despite a good effort at the Curragh when a neck second last time out. With a whole host of useful looking debutantes in opposition the option here must be to lay Delight at around 2.9. There’s little downside in adding a place lay too at around 1.55.
Hi Emperor ran really well in what looked a decent maiden at the Curragh last time. He finished third to Singing Bird and the runner-up Imaginationrunwild went on to win well on his next start. He sets a really good standard and the morning 2.71 on BETDAQ looks very tempting indeed. Nap.
Interesting to see my colleague DAQMAN nap Along in the 7.20 following her encouraging fourth at Leopardstown on debut. With normal improvement she should certainly go close here and she has an entry in the Irish Oaks.
