SUNDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews Sunday’s relegation playoff in Serie A between SPEZIA v HELLAS VERONA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
SPEZIA v HELLAS VERONA
7.45pm The European season just keeps giving this season! Just when you thought all the domestic action was over, we have a relegation playoff from Serie A to enjoy on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE on Sunday night. This game is as a result of a new rule Serie A brought in for this season – because Spezia and Verona finished on the same number points relegation is then decided by a playoff. It makes for plenty of drama, and we should have a very intense affair here.
We had high drama in the relegation battle last weekend. It looked like Verona were going down after two late goals for AC Milan put them 3-1 ahead. Verona had worked so hard to get to the 85th minute at 1-1 before it all went wrong for them. It looked like they were going down in the first half as Spezia were 1-0 up against Roma until the 43rd minute. Then for the final five minutes it looked like Verona were certain to go down, only for a 90th minute winner for Roma to give us a relegation playoff with both sides losing. What a rollercoaster, and hopefully we get as much drama here.
As you can imagine with both sides in the relegation battle, their under-lining numbers aren’t great. Both of them concede more chances than they create, and they’ve really struggled in front of goal oo. Spezia have only created an average xG of 1.1 this season while conceding an average xG of 1.6. From those chances they’ve created up front, they’ve failed to take them as they their actual goals scored average is less than one goal per game. Verona have very similar stats, they have only created an average xG of 1.0 and conceded an average of 1.4. They too have struggled to convert those chances with an actual goals scored average of under one per game.
One goal might actually win this game given the sides have been so bad up front! It’s hard to see anything other than a very cagey game here – the stakes are so high and the sides just don’t have the firepower up front. Spezia won 2-1 when the sides met way back in November before the World Cup, but then we had a very cagey 0-0 in March. It’s no surprise to see a very open market here. Verona are slight favourites at the time of writing but there really isn’t much in it. Spezia trade 3.1 with Verona 2.74 and the draw is 3.15.
Both sides really struggle going forward, and with the stakes so high I can’t see either side wanting to play an open game here. I was surprised to see Under 2.5 goals trading as high as 1.6 when I clicked into the market – I expected it to be 1.5 or even shorter! The bet I like however is Both Teams Not To Score at 1.86. I feel this offers a lot more value than Under 2.5 goals and I really can’t see many chances in this one. I couldn’t put anyone off the draw at 3.15 either. I know they both concede chances, but neither are good enough up front to take advantage in my opinion – I wouldn’t be surprised to see another 0-0 to be honest.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Both Teams Not To Score at 1.86 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
