BAYER LEVERKUSEN V RB LEIPZIG

2.30pm We have a cracking Saturday ahead on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! The Bundesliga and Serie A have returned this weekend, and we also have Real Madrid in action in La Liga again. The European season is in full swing now, and I’m looking forward to a fantastic season full of drama, and hopefully winning bets! We start the day in the Bundesliga with a brilliant fixture as Bayer Leverkusen host RB Leipzig. Bayern Munich open the Bundesliga season with Friday night football, and it will be interesting to see what level RB Leipzig and Dortmund (playing later today) are playing at towards the start of the season. We have a very close title race last season, and one wonders if that was the chance to finally knock Bayern off the top. Bayer Leverkusen finished 16 points behind RB Leipzig last season, dropping out of the top four and going backwards quite a bit. In the 2021/22 season they managed to finish in third, ahead of RB Leipzig. Leverkusen simply weren’t good enough last season – they didn’t concede a huge amount of chances but they didn’t create enough. Their average xG created was only 1.56 which isn’t high enough in a league like the Bundesliga.

While RB Leipzig finished third last season and have Champions League football to look forward to, it was still a disappointing season. They were five points behind the top two, and never in the title race to be honest. They have the talent in their squad to get a little closer, but it’s hard to see them actually being heavily involved in a title race to be honest. This should be a very competitive game between two rock solid sides, and it will be interesting to see how it plays out on the opening weekend. Bayer Leverkusen come into the game as the favourites, and I’m not sure I agree with that. Leverkusen played average football at home last season, while RB Leipzig were very solid away from home. I feel the value play here is the Leverkusen lay at around 2.54 – I just fully expect a closer game than those odds suggest. I wouldn’t be surprise to see a RB Leipzig win either, not just a draw.

The Ultra Says:
Three points lay (liability) Bayer Leverkusen to beat RB Leipzig at 2.54 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

ALMERIA V REAL MADRID

6.30pm Next we move over to La Liga as Almeria host Real Madrid. It was a very successful opening weekend for Real Madrid as they won 2-0 away to Athletic Bilbao – a pretty tricky place to go and win. Obviously most casual football fans will expect Real Madrid to win those games, but they were trading odds against for the three points – it was a nice start to the season. Barcelona drew 0-0 away to Getafe as well, so for the time being Real have a two point advantage in the title race. As expected, it was a very tight game but Real were very solid at the back – they conceded a very small xG figure and their major summer signing Jude Bellingham scored on his competitive debut too. It couldn’t have gone any better really. The same can’t be said about Almeria who started with a loss at home against Rayo Vallecano. If you look at the xG figures of that game you can say that they were very unlucky – they barely conceded any chances at all, but obviously their xG of just over 1.01 wasn’t overly impressive either.

Losing home games like that has to be a worry for Almeria because they were so poor away from home last season. It was like we had two Almeria teams last season! The one who played at home finished in the top half of the table, and the one who played away from home only managed eight points at season which was the worst return in La Liga. Obviously with Almeria in the relegation battle and Real Madrid in the title race, there’s a big gulf in class between the sides. Real Madrid have a good record against Almeria too, but there was a big gap between games with Almeria in the Segunda for a while. The 1.44 is too big on Real in my opinion, but I prefer Over 2.5 goals at 1.69. We had two very open games between these sides last season, and Almeria won’t sit back too much at home – I feel we’ll have an entertaining game here.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.69 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

INTER MILAN V MONZA

7.45pm As well as the Bundesliga, Serie A comes roaring back this weekend and that’s where we finish Saturday as Inter Milan host Monza. We should have another fascinating Serie A season, and it will be interesting to see if Napoli can keep their level from last season. They waited so long for a title, is the fire still there? We saw recently with AC Milan they went backwards quite a lot after lifting the Serie A title. In terms of performance level looking at the xG figures, Inter Milan were the only side that could live with Napoli last season. They were creating an average xG of close to 2.0 last season – the only side over 2.0 was Napoli. Inter just conceded too many sloppy goals, and basically didn’t take their chances. If they can keep the same performance level, they will go close in the title race in my opinion but they need to focus more at the back. Romelu Lukaku wasn’t a good fit for the club either really, even though he clearly wanted to come from Chelsea. As you’d expect with home advantage, Inter come into the game as the heavy odds on favourites.

They are trading 1.42 at the time of writing, with Monza 8.6 and the draw is 5.1. Inter were very good at home last season winning 14 of their 19 home games – they did throw in five losses though so that’s an area for improvement this season. Monza were reasonably solid away from home finishing in mid-table – they actually would have been delighted to finish mid-table last season after coming up from Serie B. Monza marginally conceded more chances than they created last season, but in general they try to keep games as tight as possible. I can see Inter running out as winners but Monza will put XI men behind the ball and make it quite difficult for Inter. With Monza so focused on defending, I feel they’ll show very little going forward. I was tempted by Under 2.5 goals at around the 2.3 mark, but Both Teams Not To Score looks cracking value at 1.91. Inter were better than their bare form at the back last season – they just need to stop conceding silly goals!

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Both Teams Not To Score at 1.91 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
