8-1 WINNER AND BACK-TO-BACK NAPS: Three out of four; then two out of three. Daqman’s race-by-race form figures in the last two days (1112121) produced more than 40 points profit. Back-to-back winning naps gave him his third since Sunday, when a 17-10 strike was part of a hat-trick at Longchamp for 54 points profit.

IGNORE THE SANDS OF TIME
⭕ 3.22 Ascot Raising Sand, who has won five times at Ascot, last season completed a long-range double in this mile Classified, which he first won as a four-year-old in 2016.
Such was the chorus of ‘he surely can’t win again at 10 years old’ that he started 14-1, not only winning it again but landing a September double after scoring at 40-1 on Newcastle’s Tapeta surface, amid the same cry of ‘no chance at his age’.
Well, he’s now 11 and ignored the more so because he’s had a holiday. I can tell you that didn’t worry him in 2016 either.
Raising Sand is back to last year’s winning mark today but Saffie Osborne can no longer claim off him.
Saffie knows Daysofourlives, whom she beat here at Ascot on Raising Sand’s stablemate Ouzo in September.
So are there any improvers who could stop a sensational hat-trick by Raising Sand? Maybe the eight years younger (yes, eight years younger) three-year-old Florida, who got off the mark recently on his second good run since a gelding op.
Betdaq Betting Exchange 3.75 Florida, 11.0 Raising Sand taken
NAQEEB HAS A BIG FUTURE
⭕ 3.57 Ascot (Noel Murless Stakes, 1m 6f, 3yo) On the ratings, this Listed is a three-horse race.
The trio is headed by Chesspiece, who has been just short of top class, a good Group-3 contender with cut in the ground, just pipped in the Gordon Stakes by Desert Hero.
The same horse beat him by a long way when they were third and sixth in the St Leger, so he’s not an automatic choice.
But Middle Earth, who won the Melrose at York, was even further behind at Doncaster, which didn’t say a lot for Naqeeb either.
Naqeeb was beaten a nose by Middle Earth in July when they were novices and, for him to complete his hat-trick today, he must step up from a Haydock handicap.
However, he gets 3lb from Chesspiece, which closes them down to a couple of pounds apart, and William Haggas reckons him a raw horse who will make his mark as a half-brother to Baaeed and Hukum.
KNIGHT AND GHOST ISLAND
⭕ 4.30 Ascot Hy Brasil is a phantom island off the west coast of Ireland. The eponymous colt by Fastnet Rock (geddit) fits my old axiom about never to touch a horse that’s only ever won its maiden.
After finishing last twice following his debut win in 2020, the Joseph O’Brien beast disappeared for a total of 998 days before reappearing at Windsor for Claire Dyson after wind surgery, last again.
BETDAQ punters on at 37.0 Hy Brasil were hoping for a dead-eight field for each-way betting in this wide-open little class-3 handicap, for his latest return 151 days on, after more wind surgery and with a tongue-tie for good measure.
With the field reduced, I shall have a win bet on Brave Knight, winner of his only 2m start on turf and getting a stone from one-time Derby hope, Educator, who takes a sudden leap in distance for this.
HIGH DRAW HELPS ROHAAN
⭕ 5.05 Ascot Rohaan loves Ascot with a bit of cut in the ground and is 8lb lower than when scoring there at this time last year.
Others in high stalls include Kuwait City, who has been gradually finding his form again.
He had Redemption Time back in third at these weights in the Spring, and Redemption Time was beaten only half a length by Dark Trooper here (Russet Gold 7th) when that one completed a four-timer a month ago.
Lethal Nymph, who landed back-to-back strikes on this course last September, has been back to form in the last three weeks.
Executive Decision has had a good season, including fifth in a 5f sprint at the royal meeting, followed by a double on easy surfaces, upped to 6f. Still fairly weighted.
Of the low draw, Kings Lynn (from the one stall) hasn’t won a handicap for nearly two years and has lost the royal colours.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
