England v Bangladesh

MATCH OVERVIEW:

England are back in action at the Cricket World Cup as they face Bangladesh on Tuesday in Dharamsala. After losing their first game quite badly against New Zealand, they are definitely under a little pressure but they come into this game as the massive favourites on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. Bangladesh made a flying start to the World Cup at Dharamsala when they bowled Afghanistan out for 156 on Saturday, and to be honest the same could happen England here – conditions can be very tricky at times in the mountains!

England will be hoping to win the toss and bowl first; that might just settle the nerves. Bangladesh have made huge improvements over the past few years, mainly lead by their fantastic bowling attack. They could definitely give England problems, and England’s batting just needs to improve from the first game. The stats show they played far less attacking shots than usual against New Zealand. Maybe it was nerves as defending Champions in the first game, or maybe they spent too long working out conditions, but the batting simply wasn’t good enough.

They only managed 282/9 and then New Zealand chased it down in just 36.2 overs. The way the competition is set-up, a loss or two actually isn’t a big deal in the race to the Semi-Finals. England will still very likely make it there; however a loss against Bangladesh might set alarm bells ringing loudly. That would pile the pressure on and then England probably go into the likes of India and Australia needing to win. They can’t afford to let that happen, so we have a massive game ahead!

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

The bowlers were definitely on top here on Saturday. Bangladesh would have got a nice experience of conditions, and they surely come into this game full of confidence after bowling out Afghanistan for just 156. Dharamsala is known for being tricky to bat, especially first because of the movement. We’ve all seen the classic shots of the mountains here; it really is a beautiful place for cricket but I’d expect to see the bowlers on top again. I think it’s a no brainer at the top, you have to bowl.

RECOMMENDED BET:

We landed a nice bet on New Zealand to beat England in their first game, and I do feel that the 1.22 on England is a little short here. There are worries with Bangladesh of course; can they cope with the England attack? That’s my worry, and I feel the best option here is to back Bangladesh if they bowl first. We had success opting for a Netherlands trade if they bowled first, and it’s a good option only backing Bangladesh if they bowl first here too. The England batting is fantastic on paper, but they face tricky batting conditions here. After the New Zealand game they said they will attack more – should you do that with a moving ball at this ground? It could be very dangerous.

The Edge Says:
One point win Bangladesh (if they bowl first) to beat England at 5.3 with Betdaq Exchange

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

I mentioned above, and again in my recommended bet that I feel bowling first here will be the best in-running edge here. I wouldn’t want to be on their team who bats first anyway given conditions! It would be interesting to see if the team batting first made a score of say 280, could that be chased down later on, but I feel the best option is to support the new ball bowlers and then exit the market until the next opportunity comes along.
