SUNDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews GIRONA v REAL BETIS and REAL MADRID v ATHLETIC BILBAO both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
GIRONA V REAL BETIS
3.15pm The focus from Europe on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE this Sunday is from La Liga where we have some excellent fixtures! All eyes will be on the huge clash between Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao later, but we start the day with Girona hosting Real Betis. This should be a very interesting game; it feels like Girona need something positive to happen because the wheels have come off their season before the International break. I know everyone expected Real Madrid to take over the title race at some stage, but Girona were giving it a good go until February. Since then they’ve only won twice in seven games, and got hammered 4-0 by Real Madrid in that run too. Most of their issues have come away from home in fairness, and they have actually won their last two home games – they’ve only dropped points three times here this season. They come into this game as the odds on favourites at 1.83 with Real Betis 4.6 and the draw is 4.0 at the time of writing. The International break probably came at a good time for Real Betis too; they lost their last three games and they’ve dropped out of the European spots now too.
In fairness, this run from Girona was always coming. Looking at the under-lining numbers, they are the most over-performing side in La Liga this season. Their average xG created is 1.5 compared to their actual goals scored average of over two. While their average xG conceded is 1.4 compared to their actual average of 1.17. I would suggest if they play in-line with their performance levels they will easily be a mid-table side next season rather than being the next big thing in La Liga has some of the media are pushing. Real Betis were pushing for a top four spot a few seasons ago, but they are playing like a mid-table side this season. They are marginally conceding more than they are creating, and that’s pretty much mid-table form. There are reasons to take on both sides looking at their under-lining, and although the 1.83 feels a little short on Girona all their issues have come away from home recently plus Betis have been very average away. Their average xG created is only 1.17, and I feel home advantage is going to be the deciding factor. I’m limiting stakes, but the 1.83 is worth taking on a home win.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Girona to beat Real Betis at 1.83 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

REAL MADRID V ATHLETIC BILBAO
8pm We finish Sunday from Europe with the highlight of the weekend in La Liga as Real Madrid host Athletic Bilbao. While Real Madrid will be expected to win, and indeed they come into the game as the odds on favourites, Bilbao have been playing some excellent football this season and they are in the top four now after the last matchday before the International break. Real Madrid are trading 1.59 with Athletic Bilbao 6.2 and the draw is 4.5 at the time of writing. With two losses for Atletico Madrid leading into the International break, Bilbao moved up into fourth and the dream of Champions League football is most certainly back on. It’s hard not to please for Bilbao – they have finished one spot outside of the European spots for the last two season! Their success this season has been built on their rock solid home form however, and now they face a huge test away to the Champions in waiting. Let’s not forget too that Bilbao have an excellent chance coming up to win a trophy – next weekend they face Mallorca in the Final of the Copa del Rey – they’ll be the odds on favourites to win that.
It’s very hard to fault Real Madrid this season. They have been superb, they have a global superstar on their hands with the very impressive Jude Bellingham too. There’s no question that Real have been the best side in La Liga this season – their average xG created of 2.01 is the best attacking figure and their average xG conceded of 1.06 is the best defensive figure! Bilbao have very solid figures; they have been the third best side at the back and they are in the top six for attacking figures – put everything together and they are the third best side in Spain on under-lining performance figures. This should be a top quality game, but home advantage might be the deciding factor. Bilbao are only marginally creating more than they are conceding away from home, and they have been much better at home this season. The 1.59 feels a little short on Real because I do feel we’ll have a closer game than those odds suggest. However, Under 2.5 goals is a very appealing bet at 2.15. I was surprised to see Unders trading odds against; Bilbao will be very negative here and Real will have to work very hard to break them down – I don’t see many goals in this one!
The Ultra Says:
Three points win Under 2.5 goals at 2.15 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
