FAIRYHOUSE OFF: Overnight rain has claimed the afternoon meeting but racing goes ahead at Roscommon this evening.
Tuesday afternoon’s meeting at Fairyhouse has been called off due to a waterlogged track.
Officials were due to inspect the course at 0800 BST but they made an earlier decision after further overnight rain.
The course said 10mm of rain had fallen overnight, leaving the track waterlogged.
Roscommon do race tonight and the opening maiden hurdle at 5.55 should be fought out between Tepalo and Swampfire who bring the best recent form to the table.
Tepalo, a winner of a French bumper, ran well when second at Perth recently but may have to play second fiddle to Swampfire who should relish the ground.
Swampfire was a winner on soft ground on the flat when trained by John Oxx and there was plenty to like about his jumping debut at Ballinrobe where he finished third.
