13-2 STRIKE AND BLOODY NOSE: One win-50 bet paid for Daqman’s day yesterday – plus some profit left over – but watching his nap, Albasheer (2nd 9-2), finish a nanosecond too late, beaten a nose in the Beverley Bullet, was truly painful.

MORE MENUISIER MAGIC

TAMFANA finally made it. She seemed the cross of Lorraine-born trainer David Menuisier, after near misses in three consecutive at Group-1 level, including her unlucky fourth in the 1,000 Guineas.

But yesterday, dropped back to a mile at Group 3 in the Atalanta Stakes at Sandown Park, she skipped clear under a confident ride by Oisin Murphy, new target the QE11 at Ascot in October.

🇫🇷 1.35 Longchamp Menuisier and Murphy are in Paris today, hunting Panthera in the bois, where Mother Nature lurks!

The three-year-old Mother Nature (Aidan O’Brien – Ryan Moore) steps up in trip and wears blinkers first time, after just failing to catch the year-older Shamida in the Give Thanks Stakes at Cork two weeks back.

Third after making the running was Mother Nature’s stablemate Lily Hart, her second time in the frame at Group-3 level.

A Cracksman grey, Panthera kicked clear to break her maiden at Clairefontaine on the second day of August.

A week later, Jessica Harrington’s Comic Book had an eventful ride in a Group 3 at Deauville (stumbled start; led; lost second final furlong).

She had won her maiden by turning over an odds-on shot of O’Brien’s, Andromeda, who scored four lengths next time.

Fairy Glen also stepped up quickly from back-to-back AW strikes, staying on at Newmarket to get within a length or so of Divina Grace, fourth at York the last day in the Listed Galtres Stakes.

🇫🇷 3.35 Longchamp David Menuisier also puts up Oisin Murphy on Sirona in this fillies’ and mares’ one-mile Listed.

Beaten a length in the John Of Gaunt by the recent Hungerford (Group 2) winner Tiber Flow, the filly kept on, fifth, in the Group-1 Falmouth on the July Course behind Coronation Stakes winner, Porta Fortuna

NO PARKING IS AN OPTION

⭕ 3.52 Brighton The home action sadly doesn’t come close to the quality in France today but I have a few selections that look of interest in the later races at Brighton and Worcester.

This mile handicap is likely to see OJ Lifestyle sent off the favourite on Betdaq Betting Exchange. He seemingly improved for the first time blinkers when winning over course and distance last month but I think as much of a factor was that he finally found his level.

Throughout his career he has been fairly highly tried, right from the outset when he made his debut in a class 2 at Ascot!

The class 6 last time suited him but he’s up a notch on the class ladder today and also has a 5lb hike. Couple that with Gary Moore’s current strike rate of 1 from 24 and I’d rather pass at short odds thank you.

I don’t think there’s much between him and course specialist Shaw Park on the formbook so, as ever, I’m letting the price be the arbiter when I am rating horses on a similar level.

Scott Dixon’s Shaw Park has form figures here of 421121 and whilst he is also up in the weights I think he won a little cosily 12 days ago and came make a bold bid to defy top weight.

Ten Commitments also has fairly progressive form and whilst he hasn’t been to the idiosyncratic Brighton before – he coped OK with the contours of Epsom last time out. I’ll include him with Shaw Park for a WIN 10 return against the favourite.

SHE REALLY IS QUALITY

⭕ 4.00 Tipperary Abergwaun Stakes (Listed) A wide open renewal of this sprint but the form choice has to be She’s Quality despite two recent efforts which have seen her finish sixth on both occasions.

After her course and distance win in July, she wasn’t beaten far in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes at the Curragh and that form just stands out against the likes of Little Queenie here who has been winning handicaps at Dundalk.

PLAYING THE WAITING GAME

⭕ 4.52 Brighton All seven races have single digit field sizes but that doesn’t necessarily make it any easier.

Nogo’s Dream looks very short considering his current form is 422222. There’s new headgear applied today but I often think on the back of a sequence like his it can be more desperation than inspiration!

I prefer to play the waiting game. Literally in this race! The Waiting Game has five AW wins to her name (and they were consecutive) but her run on the turf last time out when second at Pontefract was encouraging.
