PREMIER LEAGUE: The Striker previews NEWCASTLE v LIVERPOOL and ARSENAL v MANCHESTER UNITED both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
NEWCASTLE V LIVERPOOL
7.30pm We have a huge night of midweek Premier League action on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! We have six fixtures on Wednesday night, undoubtedly the highlight of the night is Arsenal hosting Manchester United which is going to take all the headlines. We do have some cracking games as 7.30pm as well though, and Newcastle v Liverpool is the pick in my opinion. It was another excellent weekend for Liverpool as they went six points clear of Arsenal and Chelsea, but probably more importantly they are now eleven points clear of Manchester City who are out of the title race. I actually can’t see Arsenal or Chelsea closing that gap on Liverpool to be honest; Arsenal have been conceding a lot more chances this season and Arne Slot has Liverpool playing some excellent football – from here I feel they win the title easily. This should be an entertaining game – we have a lot of entertaining history in this fixture, but Newcastle have been disappointing so far this season – they look there for the taking in my opinion. Liverpool come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.84 with Newcastle 4.6 and the draw is 4.1 at the time of writing.
Newcastle have obviously been going through a difficult time this season, they had to sell players to meet financial fair play rules which is never a good thing. Eddie Howe is under pressure though; their performance levels have been poor this season. They are in the bottom six attacking figures, and the bottom seven defensive figures. They’ve actually been getting away with a lot at the back because sides haven’t been converting their chances against them. They come up against the best side in Europe here – at the moment anyway – and the 1.84 looks cracking value on Liverpool in my opinion. Not only are Liverpool attacking superbly, Arne Slot has been defending superbly well which didn’t really happen under Klopp. We landed a bet on Liverpool at the weekend to beat Manchester City, and at 1.84 I’m happy with a Five Star NAP on them here.

ARSENAL V MANCHESTER UNITED
8.15pm You just know there’s going to be drama with this one! Arsenal host Manchester United in undoubtedly the highlight of the midweek fixtures, and there’s going to be plenty of headlines from this game. This is the first real challenge for Ruben Amorim as Manchester United manager, and it will be fascinating to see how his side performs against an Arsenal side that haven’t really fired yet this season. Arsenal start the night six points behind league leaders Liverpool, but with Manchester City dropping so many points, Arsenal fans still have to be excited about the title race this season. It could be a big night at the top of the table! Arsenal come into the game as the hot favourites at 1.5 with Manchester United 7.6 and the draw is 4.5 at the time of writing. Arsenal have dropped plenty of points themselves already this season, and it’s because they are conceding more chances this time around. One clean sheet from their last eight Premier League games is a worry, even in the 5-2 win at the weekend over West Ham you can see that they are a little more sloppy at the back this season. In fairness, they had the game won at 4-0 up, but they could easily improve at the back.
United have had a tonne of issues this season, and while they won 4-0 over Everton at the weekend, the performance wasn’t fantastic. Ruben Amorim said as much after the game, and while the buzz is quite big around United at the moment given the new manager, I would suggest that the jury is still out on the performance level. I’m not sure this squad has the talent to deliver what the manager is trying to do – but in fairness he has had limited time with the players so far. The 1.5 on Arsenal feels a little short given all the circumstances, but it is hard to trust this United side. I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market here because I feel this game screams goals. Arsenal have been conceding a lot more chances this season, and United can get on the score sheet at some stage in my opinion. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.68 but I like Both Teams To Score at 1.87 – I expect an open and entertaining game here.
