ARCLIGHT’S VALUE AT 9.1

⭕ 3.13 Stratford I can’t handle the apprentice-only raceday at Redcar and Newton Abbot has a poor card, so I’m staying with the quality fields at Chantilly and the Curragh, where at least we have some idea of the ground.

But first a class-2-chase pick at Stratford, buoyed on by my double at Market Rasen yesterday but worried about rain falling on a firm surface. Nicky Henderson could have the answer at a tempting 9.1 BETDAQ offer this morning.

Arclight landed a chasing hat-trick before being aimed too high but was put back in the deep end over hurdles at Cheltenham and Aintree this Spring.

Back to fences today against old boy Sir Tivo, who won this on good ground in 2023, and low-level hat-trick winner Finest View, who doesn’t want any rain.

11.5 LEAVES LOOKS GOOD

⭕ 2.30 Curragh (Meadow Court Stakes) One Look disappointed at Royal Ascot but could win this on her half-length second to Porta Fortuna here in May, with Naomi Lapaglia a well-beaten third.

More rain would boost Higher Leaves, dropped into her comfort zone after Group-1 defeats by such as Sosie and Whirl. Good value at 11.0.

The same applies to Tasmania, an eye-catching runner-up to 108-rated Diamond Rain at this level the last day. Uluru is not out of it but I prefer Ryan Moore’s ride in the next.

⭕ 3.40 Curragh (Minstrel Stakes) Diego Velazquez is a standout here (I took Betdaq Betting Exchange 2.4). Lack of a run and the very fast ground were against him in the Queen Anne.

He beat Mutasarref easily at Leopardstown in September, and this is not a good race for three-year-olds: if they’re any good their campaign has been fruitful; if they’re improving, they have autumn targets by now.

BURKE OUR SUPER SOLDIER

⭕ 3.25 Chantilly Seen as a late improver, Doha has stayed in training with Ralph Beckett at five, with the ground in her favour for this Listed today.

Christophe Soumillon takes the ride for the first time since they were together in winning the Prix Dahlia at Saint-Cloud at this level in October. The runner-up, Iznik, scored in a Group 3 next time out.

Lines through that one suggest there’s not much between Quisisana and Doha, with Quisisana in better form but Doha’s connections raising hopes of improvement.

⭕ 4.00 Chantilly (Prix Robert Papin) Karl Burke has won this twice as eight English and one Irish invader have wiped the floor with the home hopes 9-1 in the decade.

Forget a poor run in the Coventry on firm, and his Super Soldier was a good Listed second here at Chantilly after running up to 100-plus-rated Wise Approach. BETDAQ 7.2 taken.

Tadej (Archie Watson) sixth in the Coventry, had been behind Super Soldier in the Wise Approach race.

The filly, Green Sense (Joseph O’Brien), was disappointing in the Albany.

The home form is hard to split: Moojeed made all and was a cosy winner of a Group 3 over today’s CD (soft) the last day, when Imperial Me Cen, who had beaten the winner in the Spring, was a close third, leaving his run too late.

CARAMELITO BACK TO BACK

⭕ 4.35 Chantilly (Prix Messidor) Six out of nine winners came from the one stall, including last year with Caramelito, who has been drawn in the same place again! BETDAQ 7.7

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
