PREMIER LEAGUE SATURDAY: The Striker previews the the next round of Premier League fixtures starting with the London Derby between CHELSEA v FULHAM all games include a recommended BETDAQ bet.
CHELSEA V FULHAM
12.30pm It’s another wonderful weekend from the Premier League on Betdaq Betting Exchange! We have an intriguing Saturday ahead with some very interesting fixtures, and we kick off the day with a London Derby as Chelsea host Fulham. Chelsea would have been very disappointed to only draw their opening fixture against Crystal Palace, but they hammered West Ham 5-1 last Friday night. Obviously West Ham have had a very negative start to the season, but from a Chelsea point of view it was nice to bang in some goals after failing to find the net against Crystal Palace. As I said in my preview of that game though, Chelsea finished that game with an xG of close to 2.0 and on another day could have scored three against Palace. It’ll be interesting to see how much they can create against Fulham here; Fulham managed to hold Manchester United to a draw last weekend but obviously we all know the issues United have been having in recent seasons. Chelsea come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.57 with Fulham 6.6 and the draw is 4.6 at the time of writing.
Fulham have had two 1-1 draws so far, but they did finish the Brighton game away from home with an xG of under 1.0. They left it very late in the day too to find the equaliser, the 97th minute! Fulham have made some decent progress in recent seasons; last season they definitely improved their away form too. However, Chelsea have looked very strong at the start of the season and they’ve impressed me twice. I know they haven’t had two wins, but their performance level has been right up there. As we saw with Liverpool on Monday night against Newcastle, the performance level isn’t everything you can still bag a win from anywhere. However, I can’t see past the Chelsea win here with home advantage, and the 1.57 is a confident bet to start the weekend. Fulham look mid-table level, and Chelsea should brush them aside with all the chances they are creating.

MANCHESTER UNITED V BURNLEY
3pm We have four games kicking off at 3pm, and undoubtedly the talking game will be Manchester United hosting Burnley. We saw some incredible scenes midweek as Manchester United exited the Carabao Cup against Grimsby in the Second Round. It’s been over a decade since United last actually had to play in the Second Round – they ended up there because of their poor performance last season, and to be honest they were outplayed by Grimsby which is a wild thing to say given the massive difference in tiers between the sides. Ruben Amorim comes into this game under immense pressure now – United played well against Arsenal here on the opening weekend but still lost, then a draw was probably a fair result against Fulham, and then obviously the disaster this week. Anything bar a win here would feel like the world is falling in on United. Amorim gave a very emotional and angry interview after the game on Wednesday – it almost felt like he could walk away if things don’t improve. This is another game that United should be winning, but how many times have we said that in recent years and nothing seems to be changing.
Amorim looked a broken man on Wednesday night, but the show must go on as they say. He must be bluffed his side can play so well against Arsenal and so poorly against Grimsby. This is another game when United tend to not turn up! It would take a brave punter to back United at odds on coming into this game; I have to say it’s a fascinating situation. United are trading 1.41 with Burnley 8.8 and the draw is 5.4 at the time of writing. Burnley are the favourites for relegation this season, but they will come into this game with expectations of an upset after what they have seen over the last week. I’m keen to keep stakes low here, and it’s hard to get away from the United lay at 1.41. It just looks exceptionally short from a value point of view. I feel this United squad is going to go one of two ways now – they’re either in the process of throwing another manager under the bus or they can fight. The thing is, we haven’t seen much fight at Manchester United for many years now.

LEEDS V NEWCASTLE
5.30pm We finish Saturday with another fascinating fixture as Leeds host Newcastle. Leeds will be very happy with their start to the season – especially looking at the performance levels of Wolves and West Ham too – their odds for relegation have drifted out from the start of the season and while it’s early days, you’d now suggest they have a good chance of staying up. Newcastle have been going through the difficult situation with Isak and that seems to be overshadowing everything at the moment. The build-up to every game has come with millions of questions about that situation rather than the match itself. It must be draining for Eddie Howe – in fairness they bumped into Liverpool at the wrong time given they are the ones involved in signing Isak. At this stage you’d nearly sell him just to be done with it! Newcastle need something positive to happen on the field though, and it’ll be interesting to see how they handle Leeds away from home. Elland Road was rocking for the opening fixture, but Newcastle have played some excellent football over the last few seasons – this is actually interesting test for both sides.
As you would expect, Newcastle come into the game as the favourites at 2.16 with Leeds 3.7 and the draw is 3.65 at the time of writing. Leeds built their success in the Championship last season on being rock solid at the back, and this will be a good test for Newcastle – replacing Isak’s goals will be a massive issue this season. I have to say I wouldn’t be rushing to take the 2.16 on Newcastle here – they have had a tough start to the season fixture list wise away to Aston Villa and then hosting Liverpool. In fairness to Newcastle too, they played very well against Liverpool, however I still feel that the 2.2 is too short here. I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market. Although Leeds have focused on being solid at the back, I feel things line-up perfectly here for an open game. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.89 and Both Teams To Score is 1.74. I couldn’t put anyone off either bet to be honest, but I marginally prefer Over 2.5 goals at the bigger price in what should be an entertaining game.
