WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS: The Ultra previews the World Cup Qualifier between Belarus and Scotland on Monday with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

7.45pm A new week begins on Betdaq Betting Exchange as the World Cup Qualifiers continue! The focus on Monday is on Group C with Scotland back in action as they travel to take on Belarus. This is an absolutely must win game for Scotland – they had a fantastic start to the Group with a 0-0 draw away to Denmark but if they’re going to have any chance of topping the Group or finishing in that second spot for a playoff, they have to win their win games against Belarus. Greece started their campaign with an easy 5-1 win over Belarus while Scotland were drawing with Denmark.
Anything bar a win here just won’t cut it for Scotland. There is a big gulf in class here, and it’s not a surprise to see Scotland come into the game as the favourites. Scotland are trading 1.59 with Belarus 7.6 and the draw is 4.1 at the time of writing. Scotland are on the backfoot heading into this qualification given they were relegated from an A Group. They are just on that line of being outclassed in an A Group and topping a B Group. They will be ranked pretty high because of being in an A Group, however they still need a lot of things to work out to get a playoff spot if they finish third or fourth here.
Belarus were playing their Nations League football at a C level. They finished third in a Group with Northern Ireland, Bulgaria and Luxembourg. They are pretty average, and Scotland should really be getting the job done here. Obviously Scotland will have to make all the running here, which isn’t a usual position for them. They went to Denmark with a draw being a cracking result and toughed it out – they conceded an xG of 1.75 so they had to ride their luck at times, but it was a job well done.
Belarus conceded an xG of 3.34 away to Greece and were completely outplayed. Greece have been playing some nice football recently, and outside of the penalty for Belarus they created very little. It’s actually hard to find positives from a Belarus point of view – they got a pretty easy Euro 2024 qualifying Group with Romania, Switzerland, Israel, Kosovo and Andorra and still missed out on the top three. They are there for the taking, and with all the improvement Scotland have made in recent years, I’m happy with a confident bet at 1.59 that they get the job done here.
