EASY WINNER, BIG VALUE: BOTH! Daqman’s nap, Both Of Us, won like a long-odds-on shot at Southwell yesterday, six lengths and three lengths, yet 6-5 against!
WILLIE’S NATIONAL: Today Daqman relies on the low draw on soft ground at Goodwood and on Willie Mullins for the Kerry National, on even softer ground at Listowel.
O’MEARA HAS THEM AT BAY
⭕ 3.00 Goodwood David O’Meara attempts a hat-trick in this race with Rhoscolyn, who has won it from single-figure stalls off 94 and 97.
He’s in a bigger field today, drawn high in 12 and off 99 but with Oisin Murphy, who won on him two years ago, back in the saddle. Adjacent in stall 11 is Alpha Crucis.
Rhoscolyn was giving 10lb when Alpha Crucis just failed to catch him over the CD last October (heavy); the difference is 6lb today.
The fifth horse home, Arkhalia Flynn, was only three then, near-bottom of the weights today and possibly better drawn in 3. Excuses last time, too, and twice a winner on soft.
Trainer O’Meara has another string to his bow, Cerulean Bay, beaten narrowly the last twice by a top handicapper in each case, Ebt’s Guard and Bullet Point. Drawn 7.
Galeron has dropped to a tempting mark with Colin Keane up, but his strike rate of 2-30 isn’t inspiring. Ata Rangi is the improver of the race, well placed at the weights.
Aabian could be anything: a Group-3 winner before gelding and wind surgery during absence of 725 days.
But the Crisfords are ace plotters and he has a tongue-tie to bring his wind op into full play.
I’m going for the low draw, where Whitcombe Rockstar and Two Tempting are the pace horses.
Betdaq Betting Exchange 5.9 Cerulean Bay, 7.6 Ata Rangi, 15 Arkhalia Flynn.
YOU OUGHTA BACK WILLIE!
⭕ 4.23 Listowel (Kerry National) Eric McNamara, who runs French Dynamite, is joint leading trainer with 3-16.
He hasn’t scored since Faltering Fullback landed odds of 33-1 back in 2012 but place punters should know that he’s been fourth twice from three runners (one fell) since then and, though not dynamite, this horse has run 23 times in Group and Graded races.
Willie Mullins has also won three, while Joseph O’Brien and Gordon Elliott have each won twice in the last nine seasons.
The Galway Festival is the best guide with five in a row from 2018 to 2022; most winners prepped in the last month.
Seven-year-olds have the best recent record and You Oughta Know (Willie Mullins) won his first chase at the end of August, and this is his handicap debut.
Stablemate Spanish Harlem has won just the one chase but has been highly tried over further: 6th in the Scottish Grand National and 4th in each of the Sandown Gold Cup and the Punchestown Grand National Trial. Also still only seven.
Joseph O’Brien won with Busselton in 2022 and San Salvador was fourth in the Galway Blazers in August.
Galway was first run back for Three Card Brag (Gordon Elliott) since he completed the course in the Aintree Grand National.
Betdaq Betting Exchange 6.0 You Oughta Know, 16.5 Spanish Harlem, 68 French Dynamite (7.8 four places)
FINALISE CAN BEAT THE BEST
⭕ 4.45 Goodwood William Haggas has won this four times in the last nine seasons and has the progressive Finalise well drawn (stall 5 is 3-9), while Personal Best (BETDAQ 15.5 and 3.00 place) is 2-2 on soft-heavy ground and comes out of the one stall, which is 4-7.
⭕ 7.40 Kempton Spirit Lead Me (BETDAQ 5.9 this morning) is 2-2 on AW at this level, including success at Kempton within a pound of today’s mark.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
