DAQMAN DYNAMITE! 16-1 NATIONAL WIN: You had been warned. SHALLOW CAN TAKE REVENGE
⭕ 3.00 Newmarket Favourites have a poor record but the winner is usually close to the front of the market, and the good ground should continue the summer form we know.
Royal Velvet has improved a stone but has never raced below 7f and Angel Shared has never been placed above class 3.
Shallow has a good weights pull with Royal Velvet, after fading in the final furlong (7f) at York. BETDAQ 7.2.
⭕ 3.35 Newmarket The 1.9m-euro breeze-up buy, Distant Storm, will be favourite here, despite pulling too hard and finishing only third in the Acomb.
And it’s perhaps sentiment that steers me to Northern Champion, in the wake of the loss of his incredible sire, Wootton Bassett.
But 11.0 offers on Betdaq Betting Exchange in a straight-eight Somerville Tattersalls field is a bit of value.
AT LAST THE PALLADIUM SHOW
⭕ 4.10 Newmarket Gosden winners of this race have included subsequent British Champions winner, Flying Officer, and Gold Cup star, Trawlerman.
Both were Listed level when they came to this but Palladium is a Group-1 (German Derby) winner and was not disgraced in the Hardwicke (Group 2) at Royal Ascot behind a 123-rated, with the subsequent Irish St Leger winner runner-up.
Palladium is 16lb ahead of the other serious contender in this race, Live In Your Dream, unless that one can bounce back after two years off.
Saeed Bin Suroor is quite capable of producing one to do just that, and Oisin Murphy has been booked.
SHRIMP’S BOAT IS COMING IN
⭕ 4.45 Newmarket Morning-drifter Son of Man could improve for cheekpieces and this longer trip but we could have said something similar a dozen times as he moved up from 7f to a mile then to 1m 2f, with 17 fails since winning his maiden on debut, always a bad sign.
Secret Beach is 1-13 and Houstonn 1-15, so we have to turn to the six-year-old First Officer or choose from four half his age, which is the most likely source of the winner.
Burj Zabeel raced unfancied in August (22-1 and 40-1) and, though Kate O’Riley has won on AW, she has been friendless on turf this year at 25-1 and 100-1.
That guides us into the safer waters of Shrimp Shady in the hands of Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy.
This lightly-raced sort has started favourite in two runs separated by almost a year. Third time lucky to live up to expectations.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
