MAKING A POINT AT 14-1 AND 16-1: Daqman turned the heat up to boiling hot early in the week, promising more bull’s-eye strikes and he duly delivered, hitting the 50-point target in two big races.

WON 14-1 BOILING POINT (Cambridgeshire, Saturday)
WON 16-1 SPANISH HARLEM (Kerry National, Wednesday)

TODAY’S HEADLINES: There’s a Sunday tea-time of big races from 3.20 to 4.20, a splendid trifle of a Derby at Epsom and a Cesarewitch at the Curragh, with Daqman’s nap at Newcastle taking the cake with double portions, please!

MORE MOORE! DERBY DOUBLE

⭕ 3.30 Epsom (Apprentices Derby): Give It To Me Oj goes for a Derby double at Epsom, just 17 days apart.

He won the Jump Jockeys’ Derby under Caoilin Quinn, landing an even-money gamble, and is now hot favourite for this Apprentices’ Derby.

Success today would give Gary Moore five wins in this race in eight years, starting when he put up Hector Crouch with a 3lb claim.

He has a strong replacement today in Ashley Lewis, climbing the ladder but still claiming 5lb, with a 19% strike rate for the yard, which now has Gary added to the stable name-plate with Josh.

Three-year-olds are 3-7 and the only second-season runner today, Team Player, is 13231 for the Yorkshire yard of Gemma Tutty. BETDAQ 7.4 taken.

A regular raider, he’s been winning at tight tracks like Chester and Lingfield over today’s trip.

ASCENDING’S ‘A GREAT HORSE’

⭕ 4.22 Curragh (Irish Cesarewitch): STALLS 25, 18, 21, 27 have won the last four; the names Mullins (Willie and Emmet) and O’Brien (the last three were two to Aidan one to Joseph) have shared 7-10.

But I fancy Henry De Bromhead can get on the leaderboard this time around with ‘a great horse’ (Henry’s own words).

Ascending (gate 24) is super-versatile, winning from a mile at Goodwood to the 1m 4f Cork Derby and the 2m 4f Ascot Stakes.

Nurburgring (15), one of seven runners for Joseph O’Brien today, was stopped in his run when fourth in this Cesarewitch last year.

Just held, runner-up to Ascending in that Ascot race, with Comfort Zone (10) third.

Sea Of Sands landed a gamble last September after two years absence. Off another long break, he comes out of stall 19 under apprentice find of the moment, Nicola Burns.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 8.7 Ascending, 9 Nurburgring, 21 Sea Of Sands

ECHO OF TEAM BOTH IN FORM

⭕ NAP OF THE DAY: Both Of Us was given the perfect prep for the feature race at Newcastle (3.20), bolting up six lengths at Southwell.

Well drawn, with the George Boughey on a high after Bow Echo won the Royal Lodge yesterday under Billy Loughnane to land him winner number 155 in a tremendous year.

Not quite in the manner of Sea Of Sands, but The Wizard Of Eye (6.45 Newcastle) has won after a long holiday and a change of stables.

Since that win was the Victoria Cup, his 14.5 on BETDAQ this morning (at 10.30) looked a magic offer win and 3.8 place.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
