9-1 DAQMAN WINNER IN THE MUD: The ground at Nottingham, declared ‘good to soft’ yesterday, produced results up to almost 12 seconds slow but Daqman was still able to clock a 9-1 winner, Mawood (11.3 XSP), in a thrilling finish in the mud of short-head and a head.

BETDAQ VALUE: Daqman today faces heavy ground at Ayr and good to soft at Bath, but hopes for more returns from BETDAQ value offers of 21.0, 16.5 and 15.0.

* TOMORROW: Start of the Newmarket Cesarewitch meeting.

ASSURED OF A PLACE?

⭕ 1.23 Bath By a long way, Marcus Tregoning shows his best strike rate is at Bath and, in the last two weeks, he has a 50% place return on all starters everywhere (7-14).

He’s getting an average of almost 80% response from his runners, according to the Racing Post’s admirable RTF.

Cut in the ground boosts the chances of his lightly-raced Nathaniel colt Assured, less than three lengths off the winner here at Bath on firm, first time ridden by Taryn Langley.

Betdaq Betting Exchange offers of 15.0 the win this morning, with 3.7 three places which looks solid.

TERM IS UNDER SIEGE

⭕ 2.30 Bath LAYS LOGIC The hooded Term Of Endearment has been beaten four times consecutively for William Haggas in three Group and one Listed race since winning when fresh for Henry De Bromhead in the Spring of last year.

In these final-weeks-of-the-Flat filly flings for black type, those aged three and four dominate (9-10), as you’d expect.

It could be the day for De Bromhead’s three-year-old Nuit, who gets softish ground for the first time, though the forecast sunshine could dry it out a little.

Another Irish contender is Siege Of Troy, with Oisin Murphy booked by Johnny Murtagh. Fourth at Royal Ascot, he was third in a Group-3 at Leopardstown. BETDAQ 5.8.

Fairy Glen, fourth in this race last year, when favourite on heavy, was small-field second at Salisbury to Palladium in similar conditions last month.

It looks a good opportunity for Secret Of Love (BETDAQ 16.5), beaten only a length by Minnie Hauk when they met in the Cheshire Oaks.

She had a break in the summer, returning behind the one-two in the Park Hill, who again finished in the first two places when clashing again in the Group-1 Royallieu on Sunday.

Queens Fort, not disgraced in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot, was then rested before her return at Doncaster last month and needs to improve for that.

MISTER! SOME TREBLE

⭕ 3.25 Ayr Newmarket trainer Hamad Al Jehani, who saddles BETDAQ 10.0 offer Mister Sketch, is going for a hat-trick across a wide spectrum of racing.

He won the Canadian International at Woodbine last week, Silawi beating a Grade-2 American player and Charlie Appleby’s evens Godolphin favourite, Nation’s Pride, winner the previous year before taking the Arlington Million.

The stable’s next runner won a 6f sprint at Pontefract on Monday. Now here’s Mister Sketch, one-time Mill Reef Stakes (Group 2) runner-up on heavy, and beaten only threeparts of a length the last day at Salisbury on heavy.

Dangers in this featured sprint at Ayr are Art Design and the grey Station X, who scored back-to-back on autumn ground last year.

Station X ran well on his September return to action two grades higher than today at Ripon.
Art Design, just touched off on heavy at Newbury last October, has also been readied for an autumn campaign, after wind ops since joining Julie Camacho from William Haggas.

The only three-year-olds in this race, Station X and Art Design were one-two at Doncaster last November. Art Design is now 7lb better off, though beaten only a short-head that day and this morning – at 21.0 – double the Station X offers.
