CROMWELL WORTH A FIVER

⭕ 3.35 Curragh today What you want in a handicap is an improving horse or one dropping down the weights but capable on his day.

Gavin Cromwell has both in this, after plotting seven winners in nine racing days, six in a fortnight all the subject of gambles.

In this handicap he has his leading rider on the Flat, Robert Whearty, on Fiver Friday off 79, down from 90 at this time last year and lower than his last two winning marks. Betdaq Betting Exchange 21.0.

He also saddles In My Teens with the incredible Dylan Brown McMonagle, looking for nine winners for the 100 this year, gone 14 clear of Colin Keane in the Irish Flat jockeys’ table.

HERE COMES THE JUDGE..

⭕ 4.15 Carlisle Hello Judge can score when fresh and Ann Hamilton was delighted to find that she could bring him back here to a race he won two years ago, a handicap two grades lower than the one he took over the Carlisle CD two starts back.

Danny McMenamin has won five times on him and the nine-year-old’s overall CD record at Carlisle is 110112.

His main rivals, Alshadhian and Realisation, have won only one chase between them.

OH SO CONSISTENT HERE!

⭕ 4.40 Brighton Trainer Michael Appleby is on a hat-trick today after 2-2 yesterday at Kempton and Nottingham, one of them favourite at 6-4, one of them an outsider 22-1.

His confidence must be high; so, too, that of the 22-1 winning jockey, 5lb claimer Mason Paetel. But is he asking too much, stepping up Starsong to 7f?

Similarly, A Pint Of Bear has scored just twice since 2023, both over 6f. The grey gets beaten regularly when he tries 7f including being pipped here off his lowest mark the last day, which has put him up 4lb!

Well drawn against them is Oh So Audacious, form figures here at Brighton over 7f and a mile: 1313231. BETDAQ 8.2 and 2.74 a place.

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
