EL CLASICO SUNDAY: The Ultra previews REAL MADRID v BARCELONA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
REAL MADRID V BARCELONA
3.15pm It’s a blockbuster Sunday from Europe on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! We have one of the biggest fixtures of the season as everyone turns their attention to La Liga for the first El Clasico of the 2025/26 season. Real Madrid host Barcelona in a game that will decide who sits top of the table, for the time being anyway, you get the feeling this title race is going to go right down to the wire this season. Two sides have been playing superb football this season and they are already clear of the rest – no surprises there – but Real Madrid currently have a two point cushion at the top of the table.
I know home advantage is massive in El Clasico, but I have to say I was slight surprised when I clicked into the market here. Real Madrid aren’t odds on, but they are the big favourites. Real Madrid are trading 2.08 with Barcelona 3.35 and the draw is 4.4 at the time of writing. I felt we’d have a more open betting heat than that to be honest – Barcelona were much the better side last season and put Real in their place a couple of times.
Looking at the under-lining numbers, it’s hard to fault either side to be honest. Barcelona have an average xG created of 2.39 which is the best attacking figure in La Liga this season – Real are a little behind them on 2.19 and then there’s a massive gap to the next side on 1.64. These two are going to totally dominate this season. At the back, Barcelona have the best defensive figure too – their average xG conceded is only 0.89 and Real are next best on 1.05.
It will be very interesting to see how Xabi Alonso sets up his side for his first El Clasico – obviously Real have a wealth of attacking talent but obviously they had issues at the back last season; that has probably been in main focus. Barcelona put Real to the sword last season in open games, and I have to say I can see them doing the same again. They are playing as good as ever – obviously Lamine Yamal is having a few off the pitch issues but there hasn’t been too much drama in camp. You could say the same about Real too; usually someone is fighting in that dressing room!
Every El Clasico is always a superb event. We tend to always have high drama regardless of what happens. Recently we’ve had a tonne of goals too, and the market is expecting goals here with Over 2.5 goals trading as short as 1.35. I have to say, I feel the 2.08 on Real is exceptionally short here; there really isn’t much between the sides and if anything I would have Barcelona as the better side this season. The 3.35 on Barcelona is a very tempting position I have to say, but I’m going to keep the draw on our side too with a confident lay on Real. I strongly feel this one will be closer than odds of 2.08 suggest!
The Ultra Says:
Three points lay (liability) Real Madrid to beat Barcelona at 2.08 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
