SERIE A TUESDAY: The Ultra previews ATALANTA v AC MILAN with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ATALANTA V AC MILAN
7.45pm The massive fixtures just keep coming from Serie A! We have some midweek crackers on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE after an excellent weekend from Italy. It was a good weekend Napoli and Roma and they both sit top of the table on 18 points coming into this midweek round of fixtures. Napoli recorded a huge win over Inter Milan, but the upset of the weekend was AC Milan on Friday night – they could only draw 2-2 against Pisa with home advantage; a game that they started 1.31 to win. Now, they have to bounce back away to Atalanta!
You don’t need me to tell you that this will be a good game – a very competitive game between two top sides. You get the feeling it’s a big game for both of them too; Atalanta have found wins hard to come by lately. They are the only side yet to be beaten in Serie A this season, but they’ve still only managed two wins from their eight games. They find themselves six points between Napoli at the top of the table. I don’t think many football fans would have felt Atalanta would be competing for the title this season, but they need to keep that top four position.
At the start of the season, Napoli and Inter Milan were the favourites for the title. Next in the betting was AC Milan – that draw on Friday night was a bitter blow, but it could have even been worse given they scored the equaliser in injury time. It was just one of those games for AC Milan as they finished the game with 68% possession and an xG of 2.37 compared to 0.82. They were equally unlucky on the opening weekend at home to Cremonese.
We have a very open betting heat here and that’s no surprise. Atalanta are the marginal favourites at 2.72 with AC Milan 2.82 and the draw is 3.5 at the time of writing. There’s very little between the sides here to be honest; there’s only 0.08 between them on attacking figures and although Atalanta have been conceding more chances, they have been getting away with it so far. They’ve been very difficult to beat, but six draws from eight games is hardly an impressive return. I know we have a very open betting heat, but I would actually have it even more open – I’d have the draw a little shorter and the two sides a little bigger. I expect a very close game here, and I’m happy to back he draw at 3.5.
The Ultra Says:
