CARABAO CUP WEDNESDAY: The Striker previews NEWCASTLE v TOTTENHAM with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
NEWCASTLE V TOTTENHAM
8pm We have the Last 16 of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, and we have some huge ties on Betdaq Betting Exchange! We have some very interesting all Premier League clashes as Arsenal host Brighton and Liverpool host Crystal Palace, but Sky Sports have opted for Newcastle hosting Spurs as the main game this evening and I agree. This should be a very competitive game, and you also get the feeling that both sides need a Cup run this season too.
Everyone seems to be dropping points in the Premier League this season apart from Arsenal. Spurs haven’t exactly been fantastic – at times they have been all over the place – but they find themselves sitting up in third after another win at the weekend. We can’t say that Spurs are in a title race, but for the time being they are involved in the Top Four race anyway! They will likely drop out – there are some red flags in their performance levels. They are sitting in the bottom six on attacking figures in the Premier League with an average xG created of just 1.26.
Newcastle are sitting inside the top six on attacking figures, but they currently have five points less than Spurs. Newcastle have also been better at the back compared to Spurs too – they have an average xG conceded of 1.24 compared to Spurs at 1.31. So far this season, Spurs have been getting away with things at the back. It’s easy to see why Newcastle are the odds on favourites when you look at the under-lining numbers rather than just the Premier League table.
Newcastle are trading 1.84 with Spurs 4.6 and the draw is 4.0 at the time of writing. An interesting market here is Over/Under 2.5 goals – both sides have been conceding chances this season but sides haven’t been scoring against them. The market has Over 2.5 goals as the favourite at 1.8, but I just don’t have enough confidence to take that. This is definitely a game for small stakes in my opinion, and when you look at the performance levels it’s hard to see past Newcastle here with home advantage. I’m happy with a small bet at 1.84.
The Striker Says:
One point win Newcastle to beat Tottenham at 1.84 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
