SERIE A THURSDAY: The Ultra previews PISA v LAZIO with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
PISA V LAZIO
7.45pm The midweek Serie A action continues on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! Piza host Lazio for Thursday night football, and while it might not be as glamorous as some of the other midweek fixtures we’ve had this week, we do have an interesting market. Lazio come into the game as the favourites at 2.2 with Pisa 4.0 and the draw is 3.35 at the time of writing. This is a big game for both sides – Lazio have had a lacklustre start to the season, and after the weekend fixtures they sat in mid-table. Pisa were always going to be under pressure this season, and they sit in the bottom three at the moment.
Obviously coming up from Serie B, the sole aim for Pisa this season was just to stay in Serie A. We’ve seen time and time again how big the gulf in class has got between the top leagues and the rest with the money available in the top flight these days. They’ve had a difficult start; no wins from eight games and there are some big red flags in their performance levels too. They have the second worst attacking figure – one of only two sides with an average xG created under 1.0. They also have the second worst defensive figure with an average xG conceded of 1.82.
When you’re conceding close to two goals per game and not even scoring one, you have problems. Obviously Pisa are up against it, but that would have been expected given the situation. I feel a bigger issue is the Lazio form – they are a European standard side but you’d be surprised if they held onto their spot in Europe this season. Their average xG created is very poor at 1.17 and they have the third worst defensive figure in Serie A this season. They are really struggling.
This game is actually tricky from a betting point of view because you wouldn’t want to support Lazio as favourites at 2.2 away from home given the way they have been playing this season. However, obviously Pisa have been playing at a very low level too. Under 2.5 goals is the favourite at 1.73, but given the volume of chances both sides are conceding it’s hard to back that; even allowing for the fact that they have both been so limited up front. I know Pisa have really struggled this season, but I do feel the 2.2 on Lazio is too short away from home. I’m happy to keep stakes small, and lay Lazio from a value point of view.
The Ultra Says:
One point lay (liability) Lazio to beat Pisa at 2.2 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
