‘ELECTRIC’ MARE FOR ARKLE TEST: July Flower is being tipped to bloom in Saturday’s Arkle Trial from among the Irish raiders at the three-day November meeting at Cheltenham, starting tomorrow. She is ‘electric’, says trainer Henry De Bromhead of his Limerick mares-chase winner.

HAT-TRICK BID: Today Daqman goes supernap on the Twiston-Davies team which is looking for a hat-trick with a solo raider on Market Rasen before a lucky-13 stable line-up at Cheltenham.

’MOON’ READY TO SHINE

⭕ 12.40 Market Rasen Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies have 13 scheduled to run over the three days of their local meeting at Cheltenham, starting tomorrow.

Three return trips from Naunton Downs to Prestbury Park would only get them halfway to their singular destination at Market Rasen today.

But the ‘Twistons’ are looking for a hat-trick, and six winners from nine (still standing), in five racing days since bonfire night.

The burden of success rests with Moon Over America, ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies, in this maiden hurdle.

The grey Kefir D’Oudairies has champion jockey Sean Bowen to help him bounce back from a modest effort, down the field at Uttoxeter in early October.

And another grey, White Riot, also puts Fergal O’Brien on a hat-trick (four out of five, still standing) but Point winner Moon Over America is taken to shine.

FISH FOR BETDAQ VALUE

⭕ 1.48 Market Rasen Pescatorius looks nicely placed in the handicap to make all the running here and follow up his success over further under Sean Bowen in October.

This will be his sixth successive start as favourite, but the 4.0 BETDAQ offer this morning looked big.

He gets lumps of weight from I Am Rocco, consistent without winning (0-21 all told), and another grey, Ben Case’s maiden Wednesday Addams.

Down the handicap are two more maidens after the veterans Valance d’Aumont, aged 11, and Caro des Flos, now 13.

‘Caro’ is 11031 at this track, including over the CD, in an excellent 2023-4 season but has not been seen in public since he won here over shorter nearly a year ago now.

FINGERS CROSSED AT 8.4

⭕ 2.23 Market Rasen Nick Kent has one of only small stables left now in the county that launched the Elsey dynasty and whose racing fans lived for years off Limber Hill’s King George and Cheltenham Gold Cup for an owner who farmed not far from Nick’s yard near Brigg.

Yet another grey today, Bannister, has been winner or second 11 times, scoring here a year or so ago for today’s jockey, Charlie Hammond.

Nick is no mug as the Crossed Fingers Partnership will tell you of five winners out of six for their best known runner, Erne River, who still able to manage third in the Freebooter Chase at Aintree aged 10.

Apart from Bannister (Betdaq Betting Exchange 8.4) the yard has chances here today with Klapton Boy (1.13) and Annies Gold (2.58).

Fergal O’Brien has won this chase twice in the last six years, and Heart Over Head (6.1 offers) is improving with every run.

Nazare is another threat on his handicap debut for James Owen, ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies, which brings me back full circle on a track where Sam rides 23% winners.
