LA LIGA PREVIEW: The Ultra previews BARCELONA v ATLETICO MADRID with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BARCELONA V ATLETICO MADRID
8pm It’s a huge Tuesday night from La Liga on Betdaq Betting Exchange! We have an absolute cracker to enjoy as Barcelona host Atletico Madrid! This week could be key in the title race in La Liga – we have two huge games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Real Madrid have to play Athletic Bilbao away on Wednesday night, so a win here for Barcelona will pile the pressure on. Atletico Madrid haven’t been at their best this season either – however, they’ve put together a run of six straight wins and have kept back into the edge of the title race.
There’s only three points between the sides now, when it looked like Atletico Madrid would be nowhere near the title race earlier in the season. They only managed one win from their first five La Liga games this season! Obviously there’s quite a gap between the sides in performance levels – Barcelona have an average xG created of 2.26 compared to Atletico at 1.71. In fairness, just on pure under-lining numbers Barcelona and Real Madrid have been miles ahead this season but Diego Simeone and his side have an incredible way of grinding out results.
It’ll be interesting to see can Atletico get a result here. They have already beaten Real Madrid this season, but that time they had home advantage. As you would expect, Barcelona come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.85 with Atletico Madrid 4.2 and the draw is 4.3 at the time of writing. Not only do Barcelona have the best attacking figure in La Liga this season, they also have the best defensive figure. However, Atletico aren’t far behind them – Barcelona’s average xG conceded is 1.04 and Atletico sit on 1.11 – the two top defensive figures this season. Real Madrid have took a step backwards recently; rumours that they players aren’t happy with the manager during their back-to-back draws with Rayo Vallecano and Elche.
It’s interesting to see that the market is really expecting goals here given both sides have been impressive at the back this season. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.46 which looks quite short in my opinion. The last time the sides met we only saw one goal as Barcelona won 1-0, but generally we do see fireworks here. In the other four of the last five meetings Over 2.5 goals backers collected. I can’t see Diego Simeone wanting an open game here though, and I would expect him to set up Atletico to defend and frustrate Barcelona. I’m going to keep stakes small because quite clearly have an immense amount of attacking talent on the pitch, but for me Under 2.5 goals is worth a small investment at 3.0 from a value point of view.
The Ultra Says:
One point win Under 2.5 goals at 3.0 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
