ASTON VILLA V MANCHESTER UNITED

4.30pm We might only have one Premier League fixture for Super Sunday this week, but it’s a cracker on Betdaq Betting Exchange! Aston Villa host Manchester United in what should be an absolutely fascinating game. Villa are flying high as they come into this weekend sitting in third spot; they are just three points off Arsenal who are away on Saturday night against Everton. After a slow start, Unai Emery side have put six Premier League wins together, and they’ve shot up the table while everyone else has been dropping points.

They face a Manchester United side here who are much improved under Ruben Amorim this season. We still have a case of classic United in the sense that you never quite know what type of performance you’re going to get – that 4-4 v Bournemouth on Monday night the latest example of the United rollercoaster. However, for the first time in years the under-lining numbers have been very positive from a United point of view. They currently have the best attacking figure in the Premier League and they have broken into the top six on defensive figures too.

The sloppy errors are still there; they don’t go away overnight. However, it finally feels like United are heading in the right direction. They are currently conceding more goals than they should, and if they could sort that out they would be a little higher in the table. Aston Villa come into the game as the favourites at 2.18 with Manchester United 3.6 and the draw is 3.7 at the time of writing. I know Villa have been on an excellent run lately, but I do feel that the 2.18 is a little short here. Obviously supporting United in the market has to come with a wealth warning these days, but there are plenty of reasons to feel Villa are too short here.

Their average xG created is increasing given the exceptionally poor start, but at 1.35 that’s still a mid-table figure. They are actually conceding more than they are creating this season, but so far they are getting away with that. Obviously confidence and morale in the camp must be sky high at the moment, but sometimes being away from home in tough games actually suits this United squad. They perform better in games where they aren’t expected to win. That recent run of a loss at home to Everton, win away as outsiders against Crystal Palace and then draw at home to West Ham is a classic example. They are creating so much this season, I think they’ll make the 2.18 on Villa look too short here – from a value point of view I’m happy with the home lay.

The Striker Says:
Two points lay (liability) Aston Villa to beat Manchester United at 2.18 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
