ATALANTA V INTER MILAN

7.45pm The Serie A action continues on Betdaq Betting Exchange with a massive fixture on Sunday! Atalanta host Inter Milan in undoubtedly the highlight of the weekend from Europe. Inter Milan, AC Milan, Napoli and Bologna all returned this weekend to Serie A action after being in Saudi Arabia for the Italian Super Cup – now we can get back to a dramatic title race! Coming into the weekend Inter Milan sat top with AC Milan just one point behind and Napoli two – Napoli were just crowned Super Cup Champions but the real question is can they defend their title?

In my opinion, there’s no question that Inter Milan have been the best side in Italy this season. I feel that as the season goes on, they will extend their lead at the top. They have the best attacking figure with an average xG created of 1.9 and the best defensive figure with an average xG conceded of 1.07. That’s title winning standard, and miles ahead of the other two sides in the title race too – AC Milan’s attacking figure is 1.51 and Napoli have a figure of 1.49. Juventus are actually the second best side going forward this season, but they have really been struggling to convert their chances.

This should be an interesting game though; Atalanta are strong with home advantage and they also have the third best attacking figure in Serie A this season. Their average xG conceded at 1.21 is a little higher than the other top sides, but they have had huge issues in front of goal. If you thought Juventus had a problem converting their chances – Atalanta have been worse! That’s why they sit down in mid-table, really under pressure to get a place in Europe next season. Their average xG created is 1.65 but their actual goals scored average is just 1.25. There’s been a lot of points left on the table.

This is still a tough place to come and win for Inter, and it’s no surprise that they aren’t trading odds on. Inter come into the game as the favourites at 2.08 with Atalanta 3.95 and the draw is 3.65 at the time of writing. It’s hard to have a lot of faith in Atalanta – but the recent signs have been promising; three wins from their last four Serie A games. Back-to-back wins and also back-to-back home wins might give them the confidence they need. Prior to that run, they had went eight Serie A games without a win! I’m happy to keep stakes small here, but I do feel that the 2.08 is a little short on Inter here – I do feel the game will be closer than those odds suggest. This should be a good time to catch Atalanta as their results finally start their performance levels.

The Ultra Says:
