NOW IT’S FOUR NAPS IN A ROW: Daqman has a Different slant on the racing game with an almost weekly run of winners at big value. That’s all down to BETDAQ offers within a stunning low percentage market. Today’s Somerset National offers this morning: 107% (last year’s Total SP 119%). Even BETDAQ starting prices are better: yesterday’s nap at BETDAQ XSP paid 5.05.

JUST BIG VALUE ON BETDAQ
⭕ 12.50 Newcastle Harry Derham sends Jus De Citron a 566-mile round trip to Geordieland today for his first handicap.
Jockey Paul O’Brien is 100% for the stable there and a stunning 24% overall, which has been largely responsible (at almost £1.2m prizemoney) for the success of the yard.
Jus De Citron has always been a chaser in the making and a chance is taken that his Boxing Day return over hurdles has put an edge on him. Betdaq Betting Exchange 9.7 this morning.
BRIDGE FORM A SOLID SPAN
⭕ 1.42 Ludlow Kim Bailey usually finds a purple patch somewhere in a season. He’s good at plotting.
Now teamed up as Kim Bailey and Mat Nichols, they have form figures this year of 13F11 in only three days at the races since New Year’s Day, not one winner favourite.
To complete the stable hat-trick and make it four out of five still standing, I fancy Island Bridge (BETDAQ 4.3 taken).
At first glance, an odds-on defeat at Leicester looks off-putting but the trip was a bit short for him and the winner has sauntered home 13 lengths since, returned to the same track to land a gamble.
Checking out his October chase at Cheltenham (unfancied at 25-1), those in front of Island Bridge have since finished 311 and those behind have collected 112232. Solid or what!
EVIDENCE FOR BAILEY PLOT
⭕ 3.37 Wincanton (Somerset National) Favourites don’t win this but punters will want to be on Harry Cobden, 31% wins-to-rides at Wincanton and partnering the ‘jolly’ for Paul Nicholls.
Winner of £15m for Nicholls’ owners in the last five seasons but now on his way to riding the J P McManus runners trained by Willie Mullins and Nicky Henderson.
Isaac Des Obeaux has shown his best form on soft-heavy, though his famous relative, Clan des Obeaux, won the King George on good to soft.
Rivers Corner, third in the London National, has won here over hurdles, suggesting that the nippy Wincanton track holds no fears for him.
But, like Isaac Des Obeaux (1-6 ), the Joe Tizzard stayer has won only one chase; yes, he’s also 1-6. Is that better than Destroytheevidence (1-8). You be the judge!
Destroytheevidence has won just once at Chepstow in October 2024 but if you knew the form would hold good today, you would look no further, and I’ve already suggested (1.42 Ludlow) that Kim Bailey’s yard is on a run.
Destroytheevidence beat subsequent Irish National then Welsh National winner, Haiti Couleurs, with Isaac Des Obeaux 17-lengths fifth.
There’s not a lot to talk about since then, though placed five times, but the handicapper insists that he’s only a pound worse than the mark he was given after taking that Chepstow race. BETDAQ 4.9.
Iron Bridge was a heavy-ground second in the Welsh National and third in the Haydock Trial but came back to form the last day on good to soft at Carlisle. Cheekpieces on and it’s raining!
Our Power, placed in five Grade-3 chases, winning two of them back to back on good ground, was third in the Scottish Grand National. Now lower than he’s been since a Kempton winner off 141 nearly three years ago. Big at 17.0 on BETDAQ but you need that if it’s soft-heavy.
