HOLD ON FOR NAP

⭕ 1.05 Lingfield Foothold was only headed on the line by odds-on favourite Maskatto over a mile here last time (pair seven lengths clear) and the Marcus Tregoning trained runner should prove hard to beat over the shorter trip and I fully expect him to make all the running.

Most importantly he has a 9lb advantage over the penalised Evenepoel who was a short head winner at Chelmsford earlier in the month and should be cited by the step up from six to seven furlongs.

A GOOD KNIGHT AHEAD?

⭕ 6.00 Kempton The stayers are in action for this two mile handicap and the interesting horse here is Knight Templar who is having his first start on the flat for 442 days.

Fitness won’t be an issue though as he has been kept busy over hurdles. It’s a long way back in the formbook but he won over course and distance back in October 2024 off today’s mark of 72 and is clearly well handicapped going into this.

Zaran comes with a wealth warning after running a shocker at Southwell last time out but if willing to forgive that run has a good chance at this level. He was only beaten 3 1/4 lengths in a class 2 here in December and now drops THREE rungs down the class ladder with Oisin Murphy riding.

SHRIMP THE MAIN COURSE

⭕ 7.30 Kempton Oisin Murphy has a good chance here with the lightly raced Shrimp Shady.

The Andrew Balding trained runner ran well at Lingfield over Christmas (Mr Baloo sixth) and should be even better suited by tonight’s extra distance and further in time.

Londoner was attracting some early support on the Betdaq Betting Exchange market. He seems to run well here at Kempton but put in a really poor effort at Chelmsford last time out with no obvious excuse bar it being a grade higher race than tonights.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
