OH BOY! I NEEDED THAT: All three Daqman bets were in the frame yesterday, one of them at 10-1, but it’s his winner that counts: Boy, was it needed! Profit on the day.

WON 5-2 ARGENTO BOY (Sunday nap)

BIG BETDAQ OFFERS : Today Daqman hunts down some big prices as he picks one race each from Hereford, Plumpton, Punchestown and Wolverhampton.

SUPERNAP ON 50-1 OUTSIDER

IF you didn’t feel the Festival winners were laid out for you by Saturday’s Trials day, then maybe Cheltenham questions will be answered by the Irish this weekend.

They have 15 championship races, seven on the last day of January (featuring the Irish Arkle and Gold Cup on Saturday) and eight when February opens with the Irish Champion Hurdle on Sunday. Both days are at Leopardstown.

The Irish Arkle winner of the last decade has finished 101-0-3133 in the Cheltenham Arkle, just Douvan, Footpad and El Fabiolo doing the double. All three trained Willie Mullins!

Sizing John (2017) and Galopin des Champs (2023 and 2024) are the Irish ‘gold’ stars to go on and win the Cup at Cheltenham in the decade.

The Champion Hurdle double, Leopardstown and Cheltenham, has recently been completed by Honeysuckle (twice) and by State Man.

⭕ 1.10 Punchestown This maiden produces ‘hidden horses’ at Closutton to prime for Cheltenham.

All four winners have been odds-on, all trained Willie Mullins, and two of them have gone on to place in the Supreme Novices Hurdle

Five times a bumper winner in France, Leader d’Allier is a 50-1 outsider in each of three novice-hurdles at the festival, including the Supreme. Supernap today.

FAMOUS FIVE ‘TOO BIG’ AT 15.5

IF you give up on your favourite trainer after a bad run for the yard, you will find that, when he or she returns to form, there may be big-odds winners you won’t want to miss.

Venetia Williams was tearful with pride after L’Homme Presse came so near to landing the Cotswold Chase on Saturday.

But she was also no doubt releasing some tension after what is now more than 40 days without a winner.

If all five runners fail at Hereford and Plumpton today, the losing streak would tot up to 51. Hopefully, The Famous Five will end of the sequence.

⭕ 2.50 Plumpton Donnacha has made the chase form of The Famous Five look good after beating Ryanair-bound Jagwar in a Grade-3 battle at Cheltenham on Saturday the pair 10 lengths clear at the finish.

The Famous Five, runner-up to Donnacha at Chepstow at this time last year, reverts to hurdles today, twice a winner the year before, again at this time.

Morning favourite Lucky Manifest has improved a stone for the move to Tom Lacey but seems to be a speed horse with winning form on good ground.

Good To Be Alive is one of two Sean Bowen rides today – the other is Keppel Queen (3.20) – to have won only their maiden, always a bad sign. Can he better their records?

A winner in March two years running, Patriotik is on a good mark now but Ike Sport has won four.

Not disgraced in the Lanzarote after being primed (runner-up) in a class-2 at Wincanton.

This looks like consolation at 4.6 on BETDAQ this morning but 15.5 The Famous Five is too big.

CHAMPION RIDE FOR FREDDIE

⭕ 3.00 Hereford Paul Nicholls has had a run of 12 placed for only one winner in his last seven days at the races.

But at least he’s thereabouts almost every time and I was impressed with his Festival hope, Quebecois, on Saturday (Hot Spot!), the stable’s sole ride for Freddie Gingell last week.

He’s on Mon Champion here, heavy-surface winner in France who gets his ground for the first time since joining Nicholls. BETDAQ 6.5 taken.

⭕ 5.00 Wolverhampton That William Haggas thinks Berlinetta ready now to show her home form is implied by his entering her up three times this week. He’s chosen this one and he’s hoping the tongue-tie will work (Betdaq Betting Exchange 17.0 win; 3.55 three places).

Imagine you are her breeder, still dreaming it will all come together one day: her sire, Pinatubo, won six races in a row, and her dam’s sire, Royal Applause, four in a row and eight out of 11. No worries; if she wins today, there will plenty want to buy into her.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
