LA LIGA SATURDAY: The Ultra previews ELCHE v BARCELONA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ELCHE V BARCELONA
8pm The focus on Saturday from Europe on Betdaq Betting Exchange turns to La Liga! Barcelona travel to Elche in what should be a straightforward three points for the league leaders — but as we’ve seen this season, nothing is guaranteed in La Liga. After being five points behind Real Madrid post El Clasico, Barcelona took a four point lead with Real dropping points. Adding a Spanish Super Cup win over their El Clasico rivals meant Xabi Alonso parted ways, but Barcelona have put themselves under immense pressure with a loss at Real Sociedad. The gap is only one point now, and as always in La Liga there’s plenty of drama to come.
Any dropped points here and suddenly Real are in the box seat here – I don’t think it’s too dramatic to say Barcelona can’t afford to be dropping points against the likes of Elche. As you would expect, Barcelona come into the game as the red-hot odds on favourites at 1.36 with Elche 8.6 and the draw is 6.2 at the time of writing. Elche sit in 12th place with 24 points from 21 games, which tells you everything you need to know about their season — they’re safely mid-table and their xG figures reflect that too. They are your classic mid-table La Liga side this season. At the back, their average xG conceded is 1.55 which is quite high, and they face the best attacking side in the league here so that’s going to be an obvious issue!
That 1.55 figure is in the bottom five defensive figures, and you don’t want to be bringing that type of figure into a game against Barcelona. I feel this is a case of how many goals can Barcelona score rather than will they actually win. Barcelona have been in sensational form with the best attacking figure in La Liga. Their average xG created is 2.22 per game which is absolutely elite — they’re creating chances for fun and they have the quality to convert them too. At the back, they’ve been very impressive with an average xG conceded of just 1.09. That’s the also best defensive figure in La Liga so while the gap might only be one point, it’s hard to argue that Barcelona haven’t been the best in La Liga this season.
The 1.37 on Barcelona looks about right – it’s a price for a weekend Acca rather than a straight bet, so we’ll have to look around the side markets for some value. This is a team that has demolished sides all season long and Elche don’t have the quality to live with them. I feel Barcelona will cover the handicap on the way to winning with Elche conceding so many chances, and the 1.93 -1.5 goals is a confident bet in my opinion.
The Ultra Says:
Three points win Barcelona -1.5 goals to beat Elche at 1.93 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
