⭕ 3.00 Uttoxeter (Midlands Grand National): Runner-up in marathon cross-country fields of this size, J’Arrive De L’Est (James Bowen) has the burden of favourite in a race routinely won by double-figure SPs (8-10).
Trainer Emmet Mullins’ gamble It’s On The Line was headed on the run-in by the super-talented Barton Snow in the hunter’s chase at Cheltenham.
The rain has come for Kim Muir second (2024) Git Maker, who was third in the Scottish Grand National three months later.
First-time blinkers (retained today) helped him get fifth, within four lengths of the winner of the Haydock Grand National Trial last month.
But he is close up to the Skeltons’ tough-nut Deafening Silence, who was fourth that afternoon (Neo King third) only 18 days after running third in the Welsh Grand National.
Isaac Des Obeaux has been first, second and three thirds in consecutive chases over the last year, with hardly any movement in the ratings, described by trainer Paul Nicholls as ‘handicapped to the limit.’
Grand Albert, on the other hand, beaten five lengths in the Haydock trial, has slipped down the handicap and, from the family of Grand National runner-up Suny Bay, could bring hidden stamina into play.
My Immortal took the Grand National Trial at Punchestown a month ago. That’s cost him a 10lb rise but soft ground is a big plus.
His Surrey National second seems to have been a rare going day for Catch Catchfire. The Berkshire National went to Rock My Way in November. Can he carry the same 12st Mr Vango did last year?
Runner-up in the NH Chase at Cheltenham a year ago and fifth in the Scottish Grand National, Rocky missed the Ultima at the festival to wait for this.
Collectors Item, second to last year’s Midlands National winner, Mr Vango, in the London National (2024), then won the Somerset National next time out and was second in the Welsh National Trial in December. Stable in form.

TWO MISSED THE FESTIVAL
⭕ 2.25 Uttoxeter A Pai De Nom swerved the Martin Pipe at the Festival because he needed today’s deep ground. BETDAQ 2.56
Red Risk is nearly twice his age but won the race last year and returned to form at Musselburgh the last day. BETDAQ 45.0 (5.1 four places)
⭕ 2.40 Kempton: Nicky Henderson (La Pinsonniere), Kim Bailey (Marsiac), and Dan Skelton (Royal Infantry and Tranquil Sea) all had winners at Cheltenham.
La Pinsonniere also went close at Cheltenham on good ground but that was a Listed second in April 2025.
Her run back at Warwick last month was needed to get her straight for the Mares Hurdle at this week’s festival.
But the going at Warwick was heavy and she ended up having to recover from the prep race! Nicky Henderson redirected her to Kempton today: BETDAQ 7.8
JAMES THE FELLA FOR ME
⭕ 3.35 Uttoxeter: Champion jockey Sean Bowen has yet to ride a winner at the Cheltenham festival. Brother James rubbed it in with a double there this week on Holloway Queen and Jingko Blue, both for Nicky Henderson.
While Nico De Boinville gets the Kempton ride on La Pinsonniere, James has hot chase targets here at Uttoxeter on J’Arrive de L’Est in the Midlands National and As The Fella Says in this novices handicap. The pair won together at Newbury last month. BETDAQ 3.6.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
