EL CLASICO SUNDAY: The Ultra previews BARCELONA v REAL MADRID with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BARCELONA v REAL MADRID
8pm The focus on Sunday from Europe on Betdaq Betting Exchange can only be on one place! It’s El Clasico as Barcelona host Real Madrid at the Camp Nou in what could be one of the most enjoyable El Clasico’s for Barcelona fans. Hansi Flick’s side come into Sunday’s game with a chance to clinch their La Liga title on home soil against their most bitter rivals. You simply could not script it better. This is the dream scenario for every Barcelona fan, and you can be certain the Camp Nou will be rocking; on the flip side – Real Madrid seem to be in disarray at the moment with reports of players fighting during training. They seem to be a very unhappy camp.
Reports of players coming to blows at the training ground have been all over social media. We went through a spell when Vini Jr was the target of all the hate from the fans, now it seems to be Mbappe’s turn after last weekend. Jude Bellingham seems very unhappy too – what was supposed to be the most devastating attacking partnership in world football has descended into a soap opera – the reported ego clashes and fractured dressing room dynamics have clearly had a damaging effect on what happens out on the pitch. Add in the dugout drama – Xabi Alonso’s tenure coming to an abrupt end and the relentless speculation around who the next permanent manager will be. Jose Mourinho’s name continues to be linked, which will only add more noise; he always seems to be leaving with a broken dressing room, never mind arriving! Whatever way to look at it, this is a Real Madrid side that is crying out for stability, and they are walking into the Camp Nou in the worst possible shape.
It’s no surprise that Barcelona come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.71 with Real Madrid 4.5 and the draw is 5.0 at the time of writing. While both sides have playing football miles above the rest in La Liga this season, Barcelona are clearly deserving of the title. Their average xG created of 2.14 is the best attacking figure in La Liga, and their average xG conceded of 1.04 is also the best defensive figure. Real Madrid’s numbers are still elite by any normal standard – their average xG created of 2.09 is the second best attacking figure in La Liga, and their average xG conceded of 1.18 is the third best defensive figure. They just haven’t been as good as Barcelona. They have been exceptional in every department this season.
It’s hard to see past Barcelona at 1.71 here. I know they have a list of injuries, but Real Madrid are all over the place at the moment. Barcelona are playing for a title in front of their own fans and the motivation levels will be off the charts. Real Madrid, on the other hand, are coming into this fixture with a fractured squad who seem to all hate each other at the moment. With the dressing room divisions that have been widely reported, it is hard to see where the fight and the unity comes from for a performance that could spoil Barcelona’s party. I actually wouldn’t be surprised to see Barcelona blow Real away here with a wide margin win, but I feel we’re getting enough value at 1.71 for a Five Star NAP!
