15.0 AND 12.5 IN DAQMAN TREBLE: Daqman opened York yesterday with three winners in a row from six bets in four races, including another 20-point supernap. His day’s haul was more than 74 points with winners at 11-1 and 8-1 SP, which he picked when offered at 15.0 and 12.5, so BETDAQ value wins again!

DRAW BIAS ROCKS YORK
⭕ 1.45 York I would usually pass on this 6f for two-year-old novices but all eyes will be on it to confirm yesterday’s massive bias to low numbers in the draw.
Race-by-race results by stall were (1:4:3 of 6) (5:3:9 of 10) (4:9:6 of 22) (1:2:9 of 13) (5:1:2 of 5) (3:15:6 of 14) (6:7:8 of 16) with all winners from gates 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and just one – second out of 15 – from double figures reaching the frame all day.
Has ground staff done any special ‘gardening’ with rollers to correct the balance? Will there be a special stewards warning to jockeys not to crowd the ‘winning’ side?
Among the low draw in the opener, The Ginger Kid (6) and Rock Steady Beat (gate 4) – both BETDAQ 6.8 offers this morning – are from stables which have had two-year-old turf winners this season.
RYAN MOORE SEES RED
⭕ 2.20 York A sprint with more than 20 runners carefully handicapped on many months of form but with the draw tipping the scales if yesterday is any guide.
Try a back-and-lay front-runner Luna A Inbhir Nis (2) – BETDAQ 14.0 – who has nearly a stone more than when winning here last July but she was beaten only a head, raised in grade, here at York in August.
Portland winner Eternal Sunshine (3) – at 13.0 – was beaten in a photo that day (Air Force One, 6, well behind) and Lauren Young’s claim off the Jim Goldie mare could make the difference.
The magnificent 19-time winner Copper Knight (4) is 12 now and hasn’t won this high in the handicap since 2023. Sports Coach (5) has won only in classes 4 and 5.
My pick of the field is Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood placed Redorange (14.0 offers) but will gate 12 spoil his day, despite the booking of Ryan Moore?
SEA FORCE BE WITH YOU
⭕ 2.55 York Point Lynas (font-running from the one stall today) and Old Cock (8) have won this in the last two seasons, both from gate 5.
Mirsky (2) bagged the Thirsk Hunt Cup 12 days ago and twice before has put back-to-back strikes together.
But Sea Force (stall 3 today) was third in that Thirsk race – ‘not clear run’ -and his William Haggas yard had three winners yesterday, two of them here at York.
I’ve shouted for Shout in both his runs this year, including in the Lincoln, but the Ascot winner on soft has disappointed. Rain might help.
Walsingham (5) has scored four times at a lower level but hasn’t been punished unduly and is related to Group and Listed winners. Big at 25.0 BETDAQ offers.
ITEM COULD BE ANYTHING
⭕ 4.05 York (Dante Stakes) This is not a race for favourites (1-10) and not a race for Ballydoyle, Aidan O’Brien winning it just the once with Cape Blanco 2010 but getting unexpected come-uppance when the runner-up, Workforce, went on to win the Derby!
They said Action could win pulling a cart when he started 6-4 on for the Sandown Classic trial; he ran as if pulling a cart and was fourth!
Christmas Day was a surprise winner of the Ballysax, with the runner-up only third in Saturday’s Leopardstown Derby trial.
Without a winner for three weeks, Charlie Appleby has had eight losing favourites in a row since the turn of the month.
His Sandown Trial runner-up, Zanati, had Wise Prince (for the Gosdens) in third but the verdict of racereaders was that he’d never finish in front of that one again.
Like Wise Prince, the galloping son of Frankel called Item ‘could be anything’, ridden by yesterday’s Musidora winning jockey, Colin Keane.
Morshdi’s here because the Chester bends were dangerous last week but, in fact, he’s the only York course winner in the race.
Betdaq Betting Exchange Item and Wise Prince both looked big at 11.5 this morning.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
