NAP HAND AT FIVE MEETINGS: Race meetings galore today and Daqman finds something to bet on at Carlisle, Chester, Beverley, Catterick and Lingfield, including a supernap and outsiders at 25-1.

TOMORROW: The French Derby

LIGHTNING SET TO STRIKE

⭕ 2.33 Carlisle Last Spring, Rogue Lightning was sent first to Keeneland then to Churchill Downs to take on the American flying machine, Think Big.

Best he could do was a half-length second after prepping for the race by beating Washington Heights in Qatar.

Rogue Lightning returned to Group racing with the ground against him at Longchamp earlier this month.

He can beat Washington Heights again here and surely has fitness advantage over Starlust, who has had almost a year off the track and last won when taking the Breeders Cup sprint of 2024. BETDAQ 11.5 looked big this morning.

Redorange confirmed his improver reputation 12 days ago but he’s still a handicapper and his best form was in defeat at Ascot and Goodwood.

PIRATE RAID BY BALDING

⭕ 2.48 Beverley (Two-Year-Old Trophy) Andrew Balding has won this twice in the last four seasons, and third, fifth and sixth when The Dancing Pirate was fourth at Newmarket have all won since.

BETDAQ 6.1 taken, with a saver on 2.9 offer Matteo, already a winner over the tough Beverley CD.

ESTRANGE NAP OF THE DAY

⭕ 3.10 Carlisle (Lester Piggott Fillies Stakes) A winner first time out last season; Group-1 second to Arc runner-up Minnie Hauk; and second spot again in the champion fillies and mares (Warrdah 8th).

That’s the ultra consistent and classy grey Estrange, who goes for a repeat in this on her way to the Arc this year via the Pretty Polly at the Curragh in late June.

SUPIDO HAS ASCOT TARGET

⭕ 3.30 Chester Supido had everything in his favour when scoring at the Chester Cup, so they’re opposing him today – but he was in stall 2 then, stall 3 now; down the weights then, only 4lb higher now.

Ian Williams has entered him in the Wokingham, so needs to boost his current 94 rating if he is to get a handy spot in that Royal Ascot sprint. BETDAQ 3.9 taken.

ON THE CREST OF A WAVE

⭕ 3.45 Carlisle (Silver Bowl) I pencilled in Princling for this mile handicap until Yazin – his Newmarket conqueror in October – let the form down yesterday.

The grey Crest Of Fire is weighted to turn around Ascot summer running with Laureate Crown. His earlier second to Hankelow looks good. BETDAQ 5.7 taken.

He reappeared after a gelding op and ran 10 lengths clear of a lower-level field at Southwell. Another grey, another in form after being gelded is Langstone.

Astrazar had stamina-bred Daydreama back in third at York in October and that one returned to the Knavesmire with a close second over the same CD earlier this month when badly drawn. Both are around 25-1 on Betdaq Betting Exchange.

AN OSCAR FOR TOSCA..

⭕ 5.17 Catterick After two bad starts, the Australia filly La Tosca ran prominently at Newcastle the last day and, for one bred to stay, can now follow in the Charlie Johnston routine of dismissing this field from the front. Dropped three grades. BETDAQ 6.1 taken

QUEEN IS THE TURN CARD

⭕ 7.12 Lingfield LAYS LOGIC: Being quoted early at odds-on, Alta Regina is from a yard yet to win this year with younger horses, aged two or three.

I shall oppose her with George Boughey’s Queencard, who was handed a tough start in a class-2 novice at Newmarket.

She cut out much of the early running and appears to have the value opportunity here, dropped in trip and grade from a good draw. I took 3.45 on BETDAQ.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
