Group H is all about one of the tournament favourites on BETDAQ EXCHANGE WORLD CUP as Spain begin their campaign. Spain are the clear masters of this group on paper, reigning European champions and vastly above everyone else in the Group. They won’t have to get out of first gear here, and surely tougher challenges will lie ahead. Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde won’t give them many problems, and the standout game of the Group H will be Uruguay v Spain on June 26th in Guadalajara, Mexico – the only group game outside the United States. All the talking points of this Group will be about Spain though – currently 6.0 joint favourites to win the 2026 World Cup!

🇪🇸 Spain (🔢 FIFA Ranking: 2nd)

Spain qualified by topping their UEFA group unbeaten, but nothing new there. As I said above, the reigning European champions are joint favourites to win Outright with France at 6.0. This is a generation of exceptional talent. The midfield is arguably the best in the world – Rodri (pictured below) of Manchester City, the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner, is the anchor; Pedri, rejuvenated under Hansi Flick at Barcelona, is one of the finest players of his generation. Lamine Yamal is obviously the best young player in the world. Yamal suffered a hamstring tear in late April and has been ruled out of the opener against Cape Verde; his availability for the Saudi Arabia game on June 21st also remains in doubt, but he should be OK for the latter stages. The squad is simply extraordinary, packed with talent and they basically tick every box. It’s no surprise that they are tournament favourites and it’s hard to see them not topping the Group – they are currently trading 1.26 to do so on Betdaq.

🇺🇾 Uruguay (🔢 FIFA Ranking: 17th)

Uruguay qualified by finishing fourth in the CONMEBOL round robin, but they finished level on points with Brazil and obviously we all know how competitive South American qualifying is. The iconic generation of Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani has now passed, and the baton falls to a new wave led by Federico Valverde of Real Madrid. Managed by the legendary Marcelo Bielsa, Uruguay play with an intense, high-pressing philosophy that is physically demanding, but should suit a major tournament. They come into this tournament under pressure though off the back of a few poor results – Bielsa himself has faced calls for his dismissal. They should beat Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde, then they play Spain in the final Group game in Guadalajara, Mexico. Surely the plan is to tick off the opening two games, then have a go at the shock to win the Group.

🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia (🔢 FIFA Ranking: 61st)

Remember Saudi Arabia had that extraordinary beating Argentina in Qatar 2022 – one of the greatest World Cup upsets in living memory – don’t write them off! They qualified by winning their AFC group, which saw them edge out competition from across Asia. They’ve had a bit of drama coming into the tournament – a new manager is a talking point. Their form has been concerning; probably an obvious thing to say given they’ve changed the manager with little time to prepare. You can get 25.0+ to win the Group and while I’m sure that Argentina win will be brought up a lot but they look quite limited here. Their opener against Uruguay on June 15th in Miami is the fixture in which they can make their mark – win that and the Group dynamics change entirely, but I just can’t see it.

🇨🇻 Cape Verde (🔢 FIFA Ranking: 69th)

Cape Verde are making their first ever World Cup appearance after seven previous attempts to qualify, and their story is one of the best in the tournament. The island archipelago off the west coast of Africa has a population of just over 500,000 people, making them the third smallest nation to ever qualify for a World Cup – only Iceland and Curacao are smaller. They qualified by topping their CAF group ahead of Cameroon, which was quite the achievement. Obviously expectations have to be low – this is their first ever World Cup after all – beating Saudi Arabia though is a realistic goal. In terms of anything else, it’s hard to see them doing much but obviously there are eight third best finishers from the Group so maybe one win could do that.

GROUP H BETTING PREDICTION

Who Will Top Group H And Who Will Qualify From Group H?

Spain are the red-hot favourites to win Group H. They are trading as short as 1.26 at the time of writing, Uruguay are their nearest challengers at around 5.7, with Saudi Arabia at around 28.0 and Cape Verde at around 65.0+. Spain should win this Group; anything bar that would be a massive shock to be honest. Even with the Yamal injury cloud hanging over the opening fixtures, the squad depth is simply extraordinary. Obviously at 1.26, there isn’t much value on offer. Given that they are joint-favourites to win the tournament; tougher challenger lie ahead.

What might be more interesting is who gets out of the Group behind Spain. Uruguay should be second, obviously Saudi Arabia could spring a surprise but they aren’t coming into the tournament in a good place so it’s hard to see them causing an upset. It’s also hard to see Cape Verde causing Spain or Uruguay problems. As I said above, the plan for Uruguay will be win their opening two games and then see what happens against Spain, but from a betting point of view I don’t see any major value here. Spain will win Group H in my opinion but make no appeal at 1.26.
