9pm Group E rolls on as Germany take on Ivory Coast in a top of the table clash in Toronto on Saturday on WORLD CUP 2026 Betdaq Betting Exchange! . Germany had an excellent 7-1 demolition of Curacao – probably the highlight for many casual fans was the Curacao goal to be honest given Germany were 1.06 to win. While Ivory Coast had to dig far deeper, needing a 90th-minute Amad Diallo winner to edge out Ecuador 1-0. That goal was absolutely massive; it’s fair to say everyone expects Germany to top Group E and then obviously Curacao to finish bottom, so for Ivory Coast beating Ecuador was the perfect start. A draw here would be a huge result for them too given they have Curacao in their final game. Even a loss wouldn’t be the end of the world to be honest given Ecuador still have to play Germany.
As you would expect, Germany come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.58 with Ivory Coast 6.0 and the draw is 4.7 at the time of writing. While Germany managed to score seven and had an impressive score line, we can’t forget that we don’t see sides trading as short as 1.06 at a World Cup that often. It’s a reflection of the expanded World Cup, and this will be a better test. It’s always a confidence boost though, but that’s about it. Ecuador went into the game against Ivory Coast as the favourites, but while it was a hard battle, it was a superb result for Ivory Coast. It was always going to be a closer and cagey affair – we actually backed the draw and came so close to landing that bet bar the Manchester United winger came off the bench to win it at the death!
I know they scored in the final moments, but Ivory Coast actually finished the game with a higher xG figure, so we can’t say that it was luck. Germany should get the job done here, but the 1.58 doesn’t exactly jump off the page as massive value. They came into this World Cup with a tonne of question marks – they seems to be a team in transition for a while now – and I do feel that Ivory Coast will make this one closer than the odds suggest. I know Germany like to play an open game, and to be honest that does leave them open at the back too. I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market here and focus on the goals market.

Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.71 and Both Teams To Score is 1.81. With ten ticks between the sides, I really couldn’t put anyone off either bet. Obviously the negative from a goals point of view that a draw for Ivory Coast would be a cracking result given the Group situation – especially considering they have a very easy final fixture too. For that reason alone, I’m going to keep stakes small here; however the way Germany play it’s just hard not to see goals here. They will give Ivory Coast chances as well, and I expect a reasonably open and entertaining game. I’m happy to have a small bet on Both Teams To Score at the odds.
