PREVIEW
Arsenal will be looking to get back on the winning track after defeat at home to Chelsea last weekend scuppered their unbeaten start to the season but they face an in-form West Ham at Upton Park, who interestingly were the last Premier League side to win at Highbury and the first to win at the Emirates.
The Hammers have lost just one of their last 16 leagues games at home and, as a manager, Arsene Wenger has won just two of his nine away games in Premier League head-to-head meetings with Sam Allardyce.
However, the Gunners have lost just one of their last eleven away games and have been playing well, with new signings Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski looking particularly impressive. Arsenal will also be looking to build on a solid run of eight matches without defeat against their East London rivals. That run includes six wins and there have also been four penalties in the last four games between the pair.
West Ham picked up a Premier League record eight yellow cards versus Queens Park Rangers on Monday so there is definitely the possibility of this derby being a fiery one.
It wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see the lesser-fancied club inflict a successive loss on Arsenal but the visitor’s superiority should tell towards the end of the game. For that reason having a bet at around 2.35 on BETDAQ for the half-time result to be a draw looks a nice bet.
