10 WINNING NAPS FROM LAST 13: Shamrock landed his 10th winning nap from the last 13 with Blood Cotil (WON 4/9) yesterday. The price shortened significantly when Our Conor was pulled out.
Blood Cotil won well to extend the naps sequence yesterday although we were penalised on the price due to Our Conor being a non runner. Blood Cotil should be seen to even better effect over a longer trip as he seemed to need every yard of yesterday’s two mile trip.
There are two Grade 1’s at Leopardstown today:
1.25 Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase (Grade 1): Big Zeb has won this three times and ran well enough on his reappearance in the Fortria Chase at Navan to take second behind Flemenstar.
However, although his price on BETDAQ this morning, around 20, looks a little too big it does put into perspective the task he has in reversing form with red hot favourite Sizing Europe.
Big Zeb was 15 lengths inferior to Sizing Europe at the Cheltenham Festival in the Champion Chase when the pair were second and third behind Finian’s Rainbow and then finished around 20 lengths adrift when Sizing Europe won the Champion Chase at the Punchestown Festival. Earlier season form in the Tied Cottage at Punchestown put the gap between the pair again at 15 lengths and Sizing Europe has consistently proved himself the better horse.
2.00 Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle (Grade 1): Jezki is an admirable performer who is now on a four-timer and won his first Grade 1 at Fairyhouse when beating Champagne Fever (the Cheltenham Festival bumper winner) in the Royal Bond.
He might struggle against Waaheb here though. The Dermot Weld traained runner has only been beaten once when a short-head runner-up in the Champion Bumper at Punchestown in May and is the pick at the BETDAQ prices today.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Sizing Europe (1.25 Leopardstown)
NEXT BEST: Waaheb (2.00 Leopardstown)
