SHAMROCK HAD THE COURAGE TO LAY A 2/5 CHANCE: Courage was second at 2/5 but his other lay, Bronte, was a winner at 4/5.
Mixed news from the two lays at Roscommon yesterday.
Bronte, the nap lay, won the opener at 4/5 but then Courage was beaten at skinny odds of 2/5 having yet again failed to go through with his effort.
As I said in the column yesterday I was surprised to see him trading so short in the market.
Fairyhouse’s card this evening gets underway at 6pm on good to firm ground.
I’ve been looking forward to seeing the reappearance of Mooqtar won won his debut at Leopardstown last season in good style and the race has worked out well since.
Trainer Kevin Prendergast has reported the Invasor colt to be working well now having overcome some muscular problems.
It’s a competiitive race but Mooqtar has the scope for further improvement and is taken to account for his more experienced and exposed rivals.
He is around 5 onn BETDAQ at the time of writing.
