LISTOWEL MARATHON MEETING DRAWS TO AN END: It’s the closing day of the Listowel meeting today and judged by the number of runners it could go on for another week. How about it Listowel ??? !!!
What a week and it’s another day of competitive racing to end the Listowel Harvest Festival.
Nothing stands out to me today – most of the BETDAQ markets are very competitive reflecting the open nature of the racing and generally large fields.
Benefficient is an interesting runner in the finale. A top class chaser, he hasn’t been seen since pulling up at the Punchestown Festival having previously won the Jewson at the Cheltenham Festival.
Whether he will be fit enough and fast enough for a spin around on the flat course today is anyone’s guess but is probably best watched.
In the mares flat race Angel Chorus is my only bet of the day. She ran well against an odds-on shot from Willie Mullins at Wexford and doesn’t appear to have a lot to beat here.
