The FA Cup is back on the agenda this weekend as we prepare for the fourth round of the competition. Luton and Macclesfield pulled off shocks in the previous round and I’m hoping Bradford’s League Cup heroics can inspire some more upsets.

Manchester United are 5.9 favourites on BETDAQ to lift the trophy in May, just ahead of Chelsea and Man City at around 6.2. Sir Alex Ferguson’s lot needed two attempts to get past West Ham following a far from convincing performance and I’m not expecting them to have the same problems with Fulham.

Fulham are one of the worst travellers in the league and I wasn’t surprised to see they have won only twice away in the league since August. That’s not what you need ahead of a trip to Old Trafford and this could be a very one-sided game. United have scored 18 times against Fulham in their previous six meetings with the Cottagers. Robin van Persie should start in a bid to wrap up the tie early on and he can reward punters in the first goalscorer market.

Sunday’s cup games include Tottenham’s trip to Elland Road and then Liverpool’s tie at Boundary Park with Oldham. I thought Spurs were really unlucky against United last Sunday and their equaliser at the death was the least they deserved.

Elland Road is a great place for a cup tie and the atmosphere should be decent. Leeds’ inconsistencies have ensured they remain outside the play-off places and Spurs can take advantage of those problems. It’ll be a decent pitch to allow Spurs to play their passing game and I think they will have too much for Leeds.

The weekend’s action is capped off with Liverpool taking on League One Oldham. Brendan Rodgers’ side is improving all the time and with the league out of reach, an FA Cup run will really give the fans something to cheer.

Liverpool were not exactly convincing against Mansfield in a game that will be remembered for Luis Suarez’s handball. His partnership with Daniel Sturridge is continuing to develop and I’m hoping we see the pair in action again here.

The Latics have lost two on the spin and they will be powerless to prevent their cup run ending here.
