MANCHESTER DERBY: We preview Tuesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg between MAN U v MAN CITY with a recommended BETDAQ bet and extended match stats.

MANCHESTER UNITED V MANCHESTER CITY

8pm The Carabao Cup semi-finals kick off on Tuesday and we start with United hosting City at Old Trafford in the first leg. This would have made a great League Cup final, but we can enjoy two legs of drama in this semi-final! United managed to go to City and come away with a win already this season. Despite playing poorly on multiple occasions this season, United seemingly “turn up” for the big games. They’ll need to be on top form over the two legs to reach the final.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Manchester United 5.2, Manchester City 1.68 and the draw is 4.6. We have seen a host of teams rest players in both the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup already this season however we’ll hardly see either manager elect to rest their star players here. You never know with Guardiola – he choose to do it in the first leg against Spurs in the Champions League!

United played out a very boring 0-0 draw with Wolves at the weekend in the FA Cup, and although many United fans wouldn’t admit it – they’d probably take a 0-0 tonight and head into the second leg. United have been much better this season playing counter attacking football when they have less of the ball. Perhaps we’ll see the same set-up tonight given City’s style of play but City have a good recent record here.

The away side have won on six of their last nine visits to Old Trafford in all competitions, but it would also be fair to say that they haven’t been at their best this season. They have had plenty of trouble at the back and United can be confident going into this game after beating City in December. All things considered, City look a little short at 1.68 and we’re happy to lay them at the odds. United’s performances against the top sides have been impressive and there’s no doubt they will raise their game for City.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Manchester City at 1.68.
